Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 6.28.09

Outside My Window…is a warm, humid, overcast day. There is a slight breeze causing the trees to sway a bit and my wind chimes to sing to me.  We have a slight chance for showers this evening…….welcome treats for the flowers and plants.

I am thinking…about the few bills I need to pay……..my trip to South Carolina in August to see my dad and step-mom and their new house…….the chores that need to be completed today……new products for me to sell……designing my new shop on Etsy……refinishing some items…….working with clay……a painting in my mind that is waiting to be put on canvas.  Right now my mind is running in overdrive ~ perhaps I should be thinking about meditating to quiet it down some.  🙂

I am thankful for…my first tomato on my little tomato bush!  Yea, I know ~ I’m getting a little too excited about that…..but woo hoo, first tomato!!  I checked last night, now I have three.  Check out my Flickr page to see a pretty cool shot of one of my tomato blooms plus a bunch of other photos I have been putting on there.

From the kitchen…a new chicken and rice soft taco recipe I tried last night ~ not bad.  Today I’m cooking Whole Wheat Orzo with Shrimp.  Simple and looks quite tasty…..I will let you know.

I am creating…a new web shop on Etsy.  Etsy is a site where you can set up “shop” and sell handcrafted things.  They also offer vintage items as well as supplies.  As much as I enjoy having my own web site, the exposure this little shop can give me will be a tremendous help………it is my hope anyway.  I’m also having fun creating some digitally manipulated photos.

I am going…to work on some sewing projects today.  I have some creations I want to try, plus a few repairs that need to be made to some of the girl’s clothes and a few things of mine.

I am reading…the book that came with my camera.  Yes, mighty strange reading material but when I was looking through it to see how to do one thing and discovered a plethora of things this camera can do, I thought it might be time to take a look-see and find out exactly what I can do.  I mean, only had the camera for a year and just discovering this stuff!  Instructions can be a good thing some times.   🙂

I am hoping…to get my little shop set up on Etsy very soon.  I know, I didn’t really need to take on another creation, but I think this shop will benefit me.  Of course, there is my constant hope of completing my web pages.  I know it needs to be done, but I have been putting that on the back burner of late because I’m thinking of restructuring some things.  No, not changing the web pages yet again, just thinking about removing some products and adding a few more things.  I need to sit myself down and get it done!  Perhaps during this coming long weekend I can do something….which leads me to my last hope. I’m hoping that everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July this coming Saturday!

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks, neighbors coming and going outside, the Weather Channel reporting on a problem in Texas with snakes coming into neighborhood yards because of the intense temps and drought.  Yikes!  All I can say, I’m glad I don’t live in Texas!

Around the house…clutter to pick up, laundry to put away, plants to water ~ for those of you who have been to my house, you know that is no easy chore!  It does take quite a bit of time when it is watering day, but I love having lots of natural, green foliage in the house.

Plans for the week include…trying to complete all the web stuff I need to get done, and then I can finally get that off my mind!

One of my favorite things…a bowl of fresh berries with a little vanilla ice cream……oh, can’t forget the chopped walnuts!   🙂

A picture I’d like to share with you…I went to an Estate Sale yesterday and this was the view from their driveway…….the James River with Ft. Eustis Army Base way across the river.  It was a beautiful morning too….not a cloud in the sky!
