Simple and Delicious
Years ago, my former sister-in-law passed on this recipe to me. My entire family has been eternally grateful ever since. 🙂 A dessert so simple to make….and quite tasty too!
Giant Cream Puff
Crust
- 1 cup water
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup flour
- 4 eggs
Bring water and butter to a boil. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir well until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Set aside to cool.
After the dough has cooled, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Spread this mixture in the bottom of a 9″ x 13″ pan. Bake in a 400º oven for 25 minutes. If large bumps form, prick them with a toothpick after baking. Allow dough to cool.
Pay no attention to my well used Pampered Chef pan 🙂 …….let’s move on to the filling ~
Cream Filling
- 2 – 3 1/4 ounce packages of vanilla or coconut cream instant pudding
- 1 – 8 ounce package softened cream cheese
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 – 12 ounce package of whipped cream
Combine pudding, cream cheese and milk…..mix until thick.
Spread this over the cooled crust……….
and top with whipped cream…….
Chill well before serving…..and enjoy!
An option is to drizzle chocolate syrup or sauce all over the top before chilling. I don’t add the chocolate because it is quite rich without it.

Debbie, it’s 3.30 AM here and I am dribbling at the mouth looking at these pictures! I will have to make that today – then have Gina’s Irish brown bread for afters. 🙂

Is there any left? How long to get to your house from Australia….

Plenty left now ~ but the kids will have it devoured soon enough! 🙂

I gained 10 lbs looking at that! YUM! I too have lots of well used Pampered Chef stones. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Debbie:
Dessert looks great and sounds great! Haven’t made that in years. Guess I will have to give a go again! It’s cold enough here (all the time lately) that the oven will feel great! Hi to all.

Sue….since I got the recipe, it has been an all time family favorite! I even have the same worn old piece of paper you wrote it on. 🙂
