Tropical Soup

The heat and humidity these past few days has been brutal.  This is typical weather for this area, but generally a little later in the season.  I noticed that Sunday was a good ten degrees above the norm.  I can usually deal with the heat…but when you add a good dose of humidity, it turns the air into a tropical soup.  Miserable.

I spent a good part of this evening watering my plants and flowers with rain barrel water.  I used a decent amount of the water reserves this evening…..I hope we get some rain soon.  It may cool things off.

I’m sure if I lived with humidity regularly, I’d come to loathe it (I mean, no one likes to feel all hot and sticky all the time), but while I was in San Antonio, I LOVED it. I know, it was May and I’m sure it’ll get much worse in the coming months and I was only there for a couple of days so how could I really appreciate it at all…. but I like feeling warm. Or, I just really hate feeling cold. It felt so cold when I got back into Orange County. Not cool

It will get much worse….I remember when I moved to Dallas from Denver, it was late winter and I was thinking ‘this is heaven’. Then summer arrived and it got Africa hot with unbelievable humidity ~ damn.

Your hibicus are blooming. Mine will be a while as we cut them back last winter. I have had this same bush for twenty years and each year we snap the dead off and underneath are the little leave. I can’t wait for mine to bloom.

I can’t deal with the humidity either. I live 3 miles from the Florida border on the east coast. I love the autumn and early winter. I feel more productive during those times.
