Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 6.13.10

Outside My Window…is Africa ~ oh wait, it is only 68 in Kenya right now so we are hotter than Africa.  In all fairness, it is dark o’clock over there….but our high today of 90 will be very close to their high for the day.  Currently at 12:15 it is 84ºF but feels like 91ºF when you factor in the 74% humidity.  Yes, 74% ~ it feels like a wet blanket draped over you as soon as you walk outside.  Quite tropical…which is why I’m happy I’m inside right now.

I am thinking…I need to get my butt moving or the day will be done and I won’t have accomplished much.  🙂

I am thankful for…the rain we received last night.  It saved me from watering all the plants early this morning ~ and it filled the rain barrel to the top!

From the kitchen…is blackberry sage iced tea and a delicious egg and turkey bacon sandwich.  Tonight is still a mystery ~ I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for.  I do know when it is hot like this my appetite kind of bottoms out.

I am creating…my nieces graduation gifts.  It is a work in progress right now and hopefully I will have it finished by this weekend for one ~ the other has already graduated so hers will be a little late.  She lives in another state and their schedule is different from ours.

I am going…to work on the graduation gifts today…..work some more in my room….work on my Creativity Boot Camp project…..and play, play, play with some new ACR presets I have discovered.  Of course I will share ~ later.  😉

I am hoping…that perhaps we will get another rain shower this evening.  The plants like it….and it saves me from a lot of watering in the evenings.

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks…..”Along Came Polly” DVD on the television ~ one of my daughter’s favorites and a funny movie.

Around the house…is pretty good.  I was in the process of rearranging my room, but I have discovered I don’t have too many options when it comes to moving things around.  I thought I would do something different with the decorating by using things I have on hand ~ still a work in progress.

Plans for the week include…finishing my graduation gifts…..attending a graduation party for my niece and her cousin…..more photo scanning….general relaxation.

One of my favorite things…the scent of lavender.  And I have a bunch in my house right now ~ I cut some fresh this morning along with some lemon balm, mint and cilantro.

A picture I’d like to share with you…of course I have a few of those.  I am in love with some of the actions I found on Flickr by Nelly Nero…here are a few images from my mother’s garden using her Antique Overlay….

I am so looking forward to seeing what the graduation presents are! I love to give gifts that are not straight out bought from a shop. It’s not even about saving money. Sometimes a homemade gift costs as much or even more if you need to buy in things to make it. I just love the uniqueness of the final gift. Hurry up so you can tell us more!
