Outside My Window ~ 7.4.10
Outside My Window…is a very warm, sunny day. Perfect day for the beach….for outdoor fun…..for grilling goodness. 🙂 It is a fairly warm 87ºF at the moment, but the humidity is relatively low so this makes it a tolerable day. There is no forecast for rain….for days in fact. We could actually use some but I’m sure the people with outdoor plans are delighted it is holding off today.
From the kitchen…today will be more about preparing dinner for tomorrow evening. We are celebrating my step-father and sisters birthdays…which fall July 5th and 6th respectively. I’m creating this chicken recipe ~ it is a favorite of my sisters…my mother is preparing ribs for my step-father. I will also be making my famous potato salad.
I am going…to begin my prep for tomorrows meal. I will be preparing everything at my mother’s house so all I need to do for the most part today is get everything together that I will need.
I am hoping…that even though rain is not in the forecast for the next week, we get a shower or two by some fluke. We desperately need some moisture..or I should say the plants need moisture.
I am hearing…the soft hum of the ceiling fan…….the ticking of my many clocks……..a television program on in the background.
Around the house…clutter to pick up…..laundry to do….outdoor plants to water.
Plans for the week include…tomorrow my youngest daughter and I are having lunch at the Founder’s Hill Country Club in Williamsburg….I know, how tra la la of me. 😎 I’m actually meeting an elderly couple I do some accounting work for on the side. I worked for him for many years until he retired. I also help him out with computer support when he needs it…and tomorrow is just such a time. When he needs help, he enjoys taking me and the girls to the club for lunch (or sometimes brunch). It is very nice….if the day is not too hazy, I will try to get some photos while I’m there. Afterwards, we will go to my mother’s house for the birthday celebrations. The rest of the week will be much like normal.
One of my favorite things…having the house all to myself. It doesn’t happen all that often so I do enjoy it when it does.
A picture I’d like to share with you…a photo of the birthday boy and girl taken on Father’s Day!
