Outside My Window ~ 8.15.10
Outside My Window…is not the warm, sunny days spent relaxing in Catawba while lounging on the back porch and enjoying the many, many hummingbirds that were visiting the feeders at my parents house. We are home again…back in Southeast Virginia and experiencing seasonal temperatures for today. At 2:00 p.m., temperature is at 86ºF with 49% humidity…..actually it is not too bad outside right now. It has been worse. There are some high clouds now and again which are filtering the sun out a bit…but for the most part a sunny day. Forecast for today is 90ºF, light winds and a slight chance of rain.
I am thinking…about several different things I want to work on today. It is a little tough getting things going today….my mind is still in vacation mode. I have to reset it for the “real” world once again.
I am thankful for…my flexible work schedule which allowed me the chance to spend the past week with my parents. I’m thankful to be working…but I’m very thankful I work at a place where I can take time off when it is convenient for me ~ with pay! 🙂
From the kitchen…is nothing at the moment. I haven’t decided what I will be making for dinner this evening but I better decide on that fairly quick in case I need to defrost something.
I am going…to finish unpacking from the trip. I am unpacked for the most part, just a few more things to put away.
I am hoping…to finish up a couple of projects I started earlier this summer. I’m such a procrastinator sometimes.
I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks….clothes tumbling in the dryer….the end of a movie my youngest is watching.
Around the house…laundry from the trip…..sunflowers that have seen better days….projects that need completing.
Plans for the week include…back to work 🙁 ….and back to the routine of every day life.
One of my favorite things…visiting with my family. I love the anticipation of the visit….the time spent together….the memories you make while you are together…I’m not so fond of the sad goodbyes when the trip comes to an end. I tend to get very weepy.
A picture I’d like to share with you…I have just begun to go through my photos from my trip. I have lots of moments to revisit, but this was a most delicious favorite…homemade biscuits! And yes, they were as good as they look! 🙂

It looks like you had a great time. The biscuits look yum! It’s hard getting back to normality. I hope the next week at work is not too stressful.
