Something New and Different
Today at lunch, I decide to do a little maintenance on the blog….check things out, see what is what. I log in…..everything is lovely so I go to the site as I normally do to have a look see…to view it as you, my visitors, view it.
Wait!! What the hell? What is going on? How come all the images are distorted? How come all the images look elongated and squished….how come they all look downright weird! What is going on here….what has happened? Oddly enough, no one answered me although my co-workers were looking at me with a little apprehension. 🙂
The only conclusion I could come to was when Word Press released their new and improved 3.1 recently, I understand that my former theme has been selected as their default theme with this release. And in doing so….they shrunk it? I could be wrong….I frequently am when it comes to some of this tech stuff but all I knew is my daughter and my sister didn’t have faces like that when I posted those images ~ it was pretty bad. Actually, they all were. I checked a few places to see if I could widen it but no luck….sad and squished photographs were all I had to show for my efforts.
So I have been on a mission tonight….I needed a new theme. I wanted one that would display my photographs in a large size…I like them better that way. After a good deal of searching and uploading and installing and a whole bunch of other things, I settled on this theme from Graph Paper Press ~ Uno. Something new and different ~ what do you think?

Beautiful image. I read your blog in google reader so never noticed the squashed images. I also want to add that it took some time to get this comment box to come up. Not sure what I was doing wrong or if it is part of the new theme.

Thank you Sharon! As far as the time for the comment box to come up….everything seems to be moving at a snails pace this morning. I didn’t do a test on that last night….probably should have. Hopefully it is just server issues, but I appreciate the heads up. I will have to check on it later when hopefully everything else is moving at a quicker pace. 🙂

Love it. Your photos are gorgeous. I’m glad you went with a theme that displays them so well.

Thanks Stephanie….I really liked the larger size and thought the black background displayed them well.
