Low Tide
I processed this image with two Shadowhouse Creations textures in PSE7.
First I used Ghostly multiplied at 85% and Arctic Chill as an overlay at 100%.
I like to take a lot of photos in an area I call the “boat docks” near my mother’s house. Truth be known, it is actually comprised of several small fishing and walking piers and a place to launch your boat into the river. It isn’t anything extravagant ~ and if you didn’t know the area, you wouldn’t even realize there was a dock at the end of the road. One of the main roads to my mother’s house dead ends at this place on the Warwick River. The reason I love to come here is the river and the scenery…natural and beautiful. Most of the surrounding area is wetlands with nature paths throughout. Many of the paths are low, wooden piers because they cross over the wetlands. This area experiences a good deal of flooding during heavy rainstorms or the nor’easter storms that visit this area in the winter.
I took this photo of the small fishing pier during low tide. I have been to this area many, many times but I have never visited during low tide. I was amazed at how far the tide takes the water back, exposing a small beach. If my camera had a better zoom lens, I could have featured images of crabs scurrying along the beach along with this one. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get close enough with mine so we will have to leave that for another day perhaps. 🙂
