Outside My Window ~ 4.19.09
Outside My Window…partly sunny at the moment, but more clouds are expected to build throughout the day. It is about 60 degrees right now with a forecasted high of 71. Oddly enough, our air quality is “good”……..I would think with all the pollen coating everything, not so much in the good range. If you want to get an idea of what I’m talking about, I posted a couple of photos of my Jeep coated in pollen on my blog yesterday ~ “Welcome to Virginia“.
I am thinking…about all the things I want to get accomplished today. It is quite a list so I’m hopeful I can get through most of it. If you read the blog yesterday, you know one of the items is ‘adventures with dehydrated manure’. There could be an uprising in the ‘hood’ if the information I received was incorrect and my flower bed suddenly smells like a ripe cow pasture. I’m *really* hoping that doesn’t happen because 1) I don’t want a lynch mob from the neighborhood; and 2) who wants to live right next to a cow pasture full of dung!
I am thankful for…my brother taking the Rubbermaid shed from my backyard. He actually hasn’t picked it up yet, but has said he wants it and will get it in the next couple of weeks. I purchased it some time ago to store the girls bicycles in…..they have long outgrown the bikes so we haven’t used it for quite a while. I have one attached to my house that is sufficient for storage. With it gone, I will have a lot more room in my wee backyard. Plus I’m afraid to open it because I’m sure it is loaded with creepy crawlin’ critters!! 🙂
From the kitchen…we have nothing right at the moment. I’m craving shrimp so there may be something for dinner with that in it tonight……pasta with shrimp added to the sauce perhaps? I’m also going to try out a new bread recipe. And yes, I just realized I was suppose to put the No Knead Bread recipe I made last week on the blog and haven’t as of yet……tomorrow for sure!
I am creating…a huge mess in the house recently. Actually, I’m working on designing and creating Alanna’s graduation announcements and another project I can’t divulge details about yet so there is a lot of paper and fabric about.
I am going…to work outside just as soon as I send this off this morning. If I can still move about after I’m finished outside, it will be followed by some laundry and light housecleaning.
I am reading…my most recent copy of Runner’s World. I always do a quick scan of the article titles when I get the magazine and then do more in depth reading during the month.
I am hoping…that the engine in the car of the man who lives behind us starts up quietly from now on. The guy thinks he owns a race car……..and it very well could be by the way it rumbles when he starts it. I just can’t understand why he has to race the engine again and again and again and again………you get the picture. I saw him out working on it yesterday ~ perhaps to silence it a bit? Yes, very wishful thinking on my part…..but ‘Bubba’ needs to realize not everyone thinks his very loud car sounds so great! 🙂
I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks and the birds outside…….I just turned around to make sure they weren’t everywhere like in the movie, The Birds. There is quite a chorus of chirping and singing outside! I can hear a morning dove too……she may be back to build their nest on my front porch light. Yes, very weird place for a nest…..but I don’t have to live in it so what do I know.
Around the house…some of my craft supplies, clothes to put away and dishes to do. Outside, flower seeds to plant, azaleas in bloom and pollen everywhere.
Plans for the week include…getting my house together prior to a visit from Nina and Papa (otherwise known as my dad and Lola) this weekend. We haven’t seen them in some time so everyone is quite excited.
One of my favorite things…sun shiny spring days! Even though everything has a yellow green tint to it, I still love the fresh crisp air, bright skies and all the trees turning green again. After the dull, dreary days of winter, I love waking up early and enjoying the spring mornings.
A picture I’d like to share with you…don’t forget Earth Day is celebrated April 22nd.
