Outside My Window ~ 5.24.2009

Outside My Window…partly cloudy skies and 71 degrees at around 8:15 a.m..  We have a slight chance of late afternoon thunderstorms.  Right now there is more sun than clouds but I think that will change as the day progresses.  Humidity is pretty high ~ 89%. So far this weekend has been very nice and it looks like today and tomorrow won’t disappoint.

I am thinking…about all the chores I want to get done this long weekend.  Quite a bit to do, my spring cleaning and would like to attempt to get the kitchen painted if at all possible.  It is small so it is a possibility I could work it in.  I would really like to get that room finished…..it is the last one I have to paint…..but of course it is time to start over on all the other rooms now.  Weird how it always seems to work that way, just when you think you have finished it is time to start all over again.

I am thankful for…getting Alanna’s dress alterations completed on time so she was able to wear it to prom Friday night.  We have that behind us; all that is left now is graduation.  I got a little misty eyed watching her leave for prom…….I will probably be all out boo-hooing at graduation.  Hmmm, note to self ~ look into purchasing some waterproof mascara!  🙂

From the kitchen…Cailin requested homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast this morning and I’m thinking some Bar-B-Q chicken for dinner sounds good.  Not too much else cooking at the moment.

I am creating…a huge mess with my cleaning projects!  I’m pulling things out of cabinets and closets which unfortunately create a lot of clutter.  I’m getting rid of unnecessary things, trying to simplify a little bit.  Things are getting a bit cozy in our little, bitty house.  🙂

I am going…to continue to work on the spring cleaning.  We are going to the beach for a little while tomorrow ~ not too long because it will be our first time this year.  Don’t want to fry!

I am reading…not anything right at the moment.  Too many irons in the fire right now.

I am hoping…we are finally done with the cold weather.  We actually had a few mornings the beginning of this past week that were in the upper 40’s when we got up.

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks and a few birds outside.  I mention my clocks each week….so I took a photo of a couple of them and posted them on my Flickr site.  I have posted my sun/moon clock and an antique looking clock on there.  Click the links to go directly to the photos, or click this Flickr link to go to my photostream to see all the photos I have posted so far.  I’m also hearing some kind of rattling on my chimney cap too….must be another woodpecker.  We had a woodpecker up there a couple of years ago…..and he enjoyed pecking away at it.  Either he didn’t care or didn’t realize it was metal…..jeez, what a racket!  And I can’t imagine it did any good to his beak either.

Around the house…as mentioned above, lots of clutter at the moment.  As soon as I’m done here I’m back to cleaning.  Winter clothes that need to go up in the attic ~ finally!  Drying gardenia blossoms….thinking about trying an experiment with them.

Plans for the week include…finishing what I don’t complete this weekend in the house, and hopefully and finally finishing all those web page updates.  I’m silently cursing myself for starting the webpage makeover now.  I like the end result, but there were a lot of pages that had to be re-made.  After this is complete, I’m pretty sure I will stay with this design for quite some time!

One of my favorite things…long weekends.  Can’t beat them…..you get a long weekend to relax or do the things you want and bonus ~ the following work week is shorter!  J

A picture I’d like to share with you…my sweetie girl, all dressed up for her prom.

prom-night
