Treasures Found

Earlier last week, I decided I would check out a couple of estate sales this past Saturday.  This isn’t something I do every weekend…..in fact, I can’t remember the last time I did go.  😕

Anyways……I have been inspired to create some new things lately using old, vintage items.  Recycle is the mantra of the nation (and possibly the world for that matter)……so I’m doing my part.  I’m pretty good about recycling my trash and other items at home, so I thought I would venture out and see what I could find.  Trying to do my part and be ‘green’. 

I was interested in fabrics, specifically lace and unusual fabric patterns or styles.  If I ran into some linen….bonus!  Here are some of my treasures found……..

I found an old telephone desk……or what was once called a gossip chair I believe……a place to sit and chat on the telephone once upon a time when phones were connected with cords……..

It needs to be refinished…….but this is what I have done with it for now……. I would love to find a vintage phone to place on the desk……

An extra large basket and a small wall shelf……

A wicker trunk……..I’m planning on removing the plastic lining and replacing it with a fabric liner and painting the trunk white with maybe mauve or rose colored roses on the front……

There were a few other things that I didn’t photograph, these are the highlights I suppose.  All in all …… a very good day.  I may have to try that again sometime soon…..  🙂
