Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 12.12.10

Outside My Window…is a dark and rainy night.  Sounds like the beginning to a horror story I know…but it is what it is.  The temperature at 7:00 this evening is about 53°F but we are expected to drop down to around 31°F tonight.  The high tomorrow won’t be much over tonight’s low and the rest of the week staying quite cold.  The temperatures were quite pleasant for the most part this weekend but we have received quite a bit of rain.  How about some of the snow totals so far this year though!  Yikes ~ I’m quite happy I don’t live in an area that suffers lake effect snow.  Those folks are getting buried lately…..and the Midwest too.

I am thinking…I would be a lot happier if this nagging cough would just go away.  I’m happy to be feeling much better, but the rough throat, croaky voice and nagging cough are annoying.  I am also thinking about how I only have one more week….one….more….week until I go on leave for the Christmas holidays.  One more….then SIXTEEN DAYS OFF!  SIXTEEN!  In case it wasn’t obvious, I can’t wait….can’t….wait!  Of course I realize this next week will be the longest week in history.  My only saving grace ~ I’m mad busy at work so I will be occupied and time will hopefully fly by each day.  Hopefully.

I am thankful…that I have lots of vacation days coming up.  Yes, there is a running theme on this day, just in case you have missed it so far.  Vacation days = relaxing time, and we all know I’m a huge fan of relaxing time.  🙂

From my kitchen…is a refrigerator and pantry full of food that I picked up today.  I’m hoping this will be it for the remainder of the month ~ maybe a stop here or there for some odds and ends.  Tonight I am having soba noodles for dinner.  I hope to make some more bread this weekend.  By the way, the recipe I tried out a couple of weeks ago ~ Fail.

I am creating…our Christmas card at the moment but if that doesn’t come together soon it will be a New Years card.  🙂  It is difficult to get us all together….or I should say all together and ready for a photograph.  When two are ready, the other isn’t….ever.  So I wait ~ I’m a photographer, I’m use to waiting.

I am hearing…microwave heating some water…..dryer tumbling clothes dry…..Indiana Jones and The Raider’s of the Lost Ark on television…..the ticking of my many clocks.

Around the house…actually a fairly tidy house ~ I was actually a little surprised when I looked around just now.  🙂  The house stays picked up a little better around Christmas I suppose.  Maybe everyone puts in the extra effort to pick up after themselves because of the decorations….it could be a good argument to keep the tree up year round if that is the case.

Plans for the week include…lunch out with my co-workers…..lunch out with my former boss and his wife….and wrap things up at work before vacation time begins on the 17th.

One of my favorite things…relaxing time….lots and lots of relaxing time ~ coming soon.  🙂

A picture I’d like to share with you…if you have followed the blog for the past few days ~ you have noticed I’m in love with the bokeh the 50mm lens is producing when I take an image with the tree in the background.  The other night I decided to take some photos of my Christmas snow globe collection with the tree in the background.
