    No Charge

The College of William and Mary has some amazing rooftops.  I was thinking about all the wonderful photographs I could get from this rooftop.  Of course I’m afraid of heights so that could be a problem.  🙂 The contractors my neighbor called came to take a quick look at the roof today.  They believe there several possibilities that could be causing the problem.  We made an appointment for them to return next week to begin an in-depth investigation….at no charge.  I like the no charge part of it.

    A Bug In My Soup

Not my normal type of photograph….this is actually a screen shot of my effects palette in PSE7.  See the little black boxes….there should be images in those boxes like in the first few.  After I ran into some problems with PSE7 on Monday, I decided to un-install and then reinstall the program.  After I reinstalled, the actions didn’t load properly…..and the program is still acting up.  I think I’m going to have to try it once more.  It isn’t difficult….more of an annoyance ~ like a bug in your soup.

    Daydreaming While Watching Sunsets

I was able to get my sunset photos web ready this evening… …the PSE installation was successful. They weren’t quite as colorful as I had hoped….but the clouds were interesting. I simplified this image in Topaz…it kind of gave the water a weird kind of texture. Kind of flaky looking I guess. I like the tiny airplane at the top. When I see an airplane, I always wonder where they are going…. …or where they have been. Hopefully it was a good flight either way.

    Disappointment and Discovery

I went to the boat dock area this evening to capture a sunset. I was disappointed. My captures aren’t what I thought they would be. But I did like this image of the river grass. My discovery… I’m pretty sure my coolest bird shot to date is a Northern Mockingbird. I checked my Kaufman Field Guide to Birds of North America. It all fits….the wing coloring and pattern, white feathers on the outside of the tail. And the song. I know field guide for birds may not be the coolest thing I can admit to reading…. …but now you know what a Northern Mockingbird looks like.  🙂

The Way It Should Be Done

Today we had a substantial rain storm right before it was time to go home.  By the time I cleared my desk and quickly wrote a check for a bill I wanted to mail on the way home, it had slowed down quite a bit.  While waiting at a light after leaving the Colonial Williamsburg post office, I observed an elderly couple walking up the street close by….maybe heading back to their hotel or motel.  I couldn’t help but think that isn’t the way it should be done. The gentleman was walking ahead of the woman….he didn’t look happy, like he was inconvenienced by the rain.  He was walking under an umbrella as…
