Outside My Window…is a sunshine, blue skies with a few white puffy clouds. The temperature at 10:45 is 82ºF with about 60% humidity. It feels pretty warm when you walk outside. Forecast today is for the upper 80’s with no rain. That seems to have been the mantra for most of our summer…..no rain. We have managed to squeeze a few drops here and there to keep things from completely dying….but the ground is quite dusty and could use a few days of water. But…..be careful what you wish for this time of year because we are heading into the heart of the tropical and hurricane season right now and there…

Outside My Window…is a mostly cloudy morning, 81ºF with 85% humidity at 9:45 this morning. It feels like 88ºF outside when you factor in the heat index. Yuk! This is typically one of those mornings when you walk outside it feels as if someone has thrown a wet blanket over you and you began to sweat immediately. As I said….yuk! Outside My Window…is not the warm, sunny days spent relaxing in Catawba while lounging on the back porch and enjoying the many, many hummingbirds that were visiting the feeders at my parents house. We are home again…back in Southeast Virginia and experiencing seasonal temperatures for today. At 2:00 p.m., temperature is at 86ºF with 49% humidity…..actually it is not too bad outside right now. It has been worse. There are some high clouds now and again which are filtering the sun out a bit…but for the most part a sunny day. Forecast for today is 90ºF, light winds and a slight chance of rain. I am thinking…about several different things I want to work…

Outside My Window…is a partly cloudy morning, about 77ºF outside at 8:30 this morning. The humidity right now is 90%…which is typical for the early morning hours….it will drop down to about 60% later today. I knew it was pretty humid out by the amount of moisture on the car windows and my eastern facing windows. Our high today is forecast to be 90ºF with sunshine. We has some pretty rough storms again this past Thursday evening. I haven’t heard officially but I believe we had a micro-burst in the section of the city where my mother lives. Outside My Window…is a different view than you normally hear about. I’m publishing this from work today so there is still mad construction going on outside my window. If you remember I told you about the view from my office and the heavy equipment previously….well, it isn’t that close now and it appears they are trying to wrap up this segment of the Power Plant upgrade. Of course they dug a trench around the building this morning and have roped the area off not to long after everyone arrived ~ not sure how they expect people to get in and out ~ but when 4:30 rolls around this afternoon, they will either have it opened back up…

Outside My Window…at noon, it is a balmy 95ºF and not a cloud in the sky. Nothing but sunshine and searing heat. Factor in the heat index, at this moment it feels like 103ºF. Our forecast high for today is 105ºF….I believe they said with the heat index, it will feel like 115º. I do not plan to go anywhere today. It has been unbelievably hot these past few days….unbelievably hot. To give you an idea, I looked up some historical data for this day ~ our average temp is 86ºF…our record high was 97ºF set back in 1949. It appears that record will fall on this day. Outside My Window…is a balmy 80ºF at 9:30 this morning. Factor in the dew point, it feels like 84ºF. I went out a little while ago to give some of the more vulnerable plants an early morning drink and it didn’t feel to bad. It will get hotter with a forecast high of 97º with a slight chance of thunderstorms. I have given up on the slight chances. We had a slight chance yesterday…..we had dark storm clouds yesterday….we had thunder yesterday….and we had barely any rainfall yesterday. Barely enough to disturb the dust on the cars. Outside My Window…is 85ºF with partly cloudy skies. Our forecast high today is 91º and sunshine. Right now it looks as if some dark clouds are trying to form over the neighborhood…enough to block out the sun at the moment. Personally, I wouldn’t care if it rained all day long….nice, steady shower….thoroughly soaking the ground….all day. We got a small amount of rain yesterday ~ not enough to perk up my vinca plants in the front garden….not enough to save my mint plant. It is toast I fear. My tomato plants while not yet dead seem to have suffered from the intense heat and humidity we had for so many days. …

Outside My Window…is a very warm, sunny day. Perfect day for the beach….for outdoor fun…..for grilling goodness. 🙂 It is a fairly warm 87ºF at the moment, but the humidity is relatively low so this makes it a tolerable day. There is no forecast for rain….for days in fact. We could actually use some but I’m sure the people with outdoor plans are delighted it is holding off today. From the kitchen…today will be more about preparing dinner for tomorrow evening. We are celebrating my step-father and sisters birthdays…which fall July 5th and 6th respectively. I’m creating this chicken recipe ~ it is a favorite of my sisters…my mother is preparing ribs…

Outside My Window…is far more heat than I want to deal with. At 4:00 p.m. it is 97ºF but it feels like 102ºF when you factor in the dew point. I arrived home from the Outer Banks a short time ago and had to unload my car in this heat. Absolutely miserable outside…..with no relief in site. Tomorrow is suppose to be 99ºF. To make matters worse, there has been no measurable rain in over a week. We are literally baking. I know some may be thinking ‘well it is summer’ but considering our average for this time of year is the mid 80’s….it is horrible. I will water my poor baked…
