Outside My Window ~ 1.23.10
Outside My Window…at 8:15 this evening is a dark and extremely cold night. We are currently at 26°F with a wind chill of 19°F….our forecast low is 16°F. C-O-L-D has been the forecast this winter for most of the country. I believe even Florida has experienced its share of frosty days and night. I also read that a good deal of the country has already experienced its annual snowfall. People are snow weary and we still have a couple of months of winter left. Brrrrr! I am enjoying a nice fire in my fireplace at the moment. I took a little nap in front of a fire last night in my hammock rocking chair last night….I usually have no problems napping in it, but the fire made it…

Outside My Window ~ 1.16.11
Outside My Window…is cold and dark. At 8:45 p.m. it is 34°F but feels like 29°F. Cold….cold….cold….every day….Cold. I shouldn’t complain too much because we aren’t buried under snow and ice…we have had lots of sunshine and our temperatures are hovering around average….Cold. It doesn’t help that I got my sticker shock electric bill a few days ago for the last month. I literally gasped when I saw how much it was. I keep my house a little cooler than most….my youngest complains about being cold all the time….we put on sweat pants and long sleeves. I can’t even imagine how much it would have been if I had the…

Smiles
One of my goals this year is to participate in different photographic challenges…step outside my comfort zone. I Heart Faces is a site I have followed for quite some time but I have never participated in any of their challenges or contests….well, online anyway. Today I’m changing that. The contest is “Smile”…and what better image to submit than the one that always makes me smile when I look at it. These little girls are the younger sisters of my oldest daughter’s dearest friend. While the older girls were off getting ready for their evening, these two little pixies sat and talked with me. They were extremely interested in my camera sitting close by….so…

Outside My Window ~ 1.9.2011
Outside My Window…is cold and dark at 7:15 p.m.. The temperature right now is about 30°F with a wind chill of 24°F. We had a beautiful day today albeit cold and windy…my wind chimes sang to me the entire day. Tonight will be clear and cold…a low of 23°F actual temperature, I’m not sure if there will be much wind to lower it that much more. If you read the post yesterday you are aware of the very weird weather we were having. It was so odd…sunshine, clouds, snow, sunshine….all in a matter of a couple of hours. There is another winter storm forecast to move through our area Monday night and…

Weird Weather
We have had some really weird weather around here today. When I got up it appeared to have rained sometime in the early morning hours….ground a bit wet and cloudy. A little time passes and we have blue skies and sunshine….the wind picked up and my wind chimes began to sing. Not too long after that, it began to snow so hard you could barely see across the street…..a few minutes later we have blue skies and sunshine again. We had a few flurries a little later but then clear sky once again. It was really bizarre.

I really like these frames….I think they add something to the photographs. I’m using frames from Isabelle LaFrance again tonight….I have several others from CoffeeShop Free Actions that I want to play around with too. I have also been trying my hand at making my own….perhaps I will be able to offer a free download myself some day soon. 🙂 This is my first entry into the two P52 projects I decided to join this year. The first is P52 – A Less Ambitious 365 ~ I love that name by the way ~ and MCP Project 52. Both of these projects are hosted on Flickr so you will need to be a…

At Days End…
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” ~ Robert Brault I spent a good part of the evening playing with some new goodies. I probably spent more time than I should have, but it was what I wanted to do tonight….so I did it. 🙂 Special thanks to Isabelle LaFrance for the free photo frames and the resize it action (available for both PhotoShop and PhotoShop Elements). Visit her web site for professional PhotoShop Actions and Fine Art Textures….absolutely beautiful!

New Neighbors?
I have been noticing more and more house finches around the feeders lately… …or maybe the same ones coming back frequently. I think they may be nesting in either the honeysuckle… …or the red tip bush between mine and my neighbors yard. Or maybe taking up residence in the birdhouse? I wouldn’t mind….such attractive neighbors.
