Can It Be?
This was a quick shot of a section of my backyard… …taken through my sliding glass door after our last snow. Believe it or not ~ there is a good chance we will have a white Christmas this year! Not so typical around here….I’m quite excited. 🙂

Disappointing
This is not the Winter Solstice moon….this was taken six months ago during the Summer Solstice. Last night was a total lunar eclipse…total. The entire thing was visible and quite beautiful. But where are the images you ask….not there. None….notta. Why you ask….because our crystal clear night was not so much during the parts of the eclipse I saw. I went outside earlier and checked out the skies…so clear, so hopeful. From that time until the actual event, things changed. Our humidity has been high at night which can create hazy skies during the very early morning hours. While I could see the moon perfectly, the haze (or maybe it is that marine layer of…

I’m Ready!
Tonight is the night….I’m ready! A total lunar eclipse…total. A total exclipse during a full moon. And during the Winter Solstice….last time that happened….1638. And not a cloud in our sky tonight. Totally sweet! I’m getting ready to go lay down… …and set some alarms…. ….cause I’m ready for an experience of a lifetime.

Outside My Window ~ 12.19.10
Outside My Window…is cold, cloudy, windy and no snow. Bonus points on the no snow ~ the nor’easter they feared would potentially bring a good bit of snow to our area ended up tracking too far off the coast. We still have some on the ground from our last snowfall, not much but still some white here and there. Our temperature at 12:45 today is 36°F but with the winds feels like 26°F. We are quite close to our forecast high of 38°F for the day and the sun is expected to make an appearance….tonight will be quite cold again at 22°F. The week looks pretty much the same as today with our…

An Old Friend
This is a photograph of a puzzle my oldest daughter put together for me years ago. After she assembled it, my mother painted it with a substance that keeps puzzles together. This has sat on my dresser since it was dry enough for me to take home. She picked this particular puzzle because even at a very young age, she knew I would love it. I have been a Wizard of Oz fan for as long as I can remember….it is one of my favorite movies of all time. Each year whenever it was on television, that is where you would find me…traveling with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Toto…

Forecast & Photographs
Today ~ winter storm warning from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 this evening. Possible accumulation of 3 to 6 inches of snow with ice developing this evening. Travel this afternoon and evening very hazardous or impossible. They did not lie! When I woke up this morning, it was dry outside ~ of course when I got to work we discovered the College was closed. The notification process blows by the way ~ we always seem to find out after we get to work. No problem, it was still dry….I was getting paid for the day because they closed the campus….and the hours I ended up working this morning will be comp time I can take…

Wind Chimes
I love wind chimes…..all sizes…..all kinds. I have a small collection of wind chimes ~ three large ones outside, two large and two small inside. This is one of my small ones ~ a very small one. It may be small, but I love the unique design.
