    Outside My Window ~ 11.14.10

Outside My Window…is a beautiful, cool morning.  At 10:45 we have blue skies, sunshine, 58ºF with calm winds.  Our forecast high for the day is 63ºF and clear skies….doesn’t get too much better than this folks.  Simply beautiful!  This is the time of year I love temperature wise…the nights are cool and the days are mild.  I like cool nights because I like snuggling down under the covers when I sleep…and I can do that now that the horrendous night sweats have left the building.  Can I get a hallelujah on that please?  😉 I am thinking…that another cup of coffee sounds pretty good right now.  I have been up…

    Recycling Day

Twice a year, in the spring and the fall, the city I live in offers one day for free hazardous material recycling for all their residents.  They set up a drop location and you load up your car with old household chemicals, paint and electronics.  All you need is identification to prove you live in the city and they do the rest.  Years ago my daughters got me involved in recycling….it was something that had been talked about but I just did a bit here and there.   My oldest daughter has always been an environmentalist….even at quite a young age.  She would get upset when she saw construction companies clearing trees or land…

    Beautiful Pixies

I was looking through my images this evening to find a photograph to post when I came across this one.  I had actually forgotten about this set of images.  A friend of my oldest daughter came by one evening last month with her younger sisters.  These girls were incredibly sweet and interested in my camera so I offered to take a few photographs of them ~ an impromptu photo shoot if you will.  This is one of the photographs from their “session”….big, brown eyes and sweet smiles….beautiful pixies.  🙂

    Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap

Not too long ago I wrote about a grilled chicken Caesar wrap I sometimes make myself for lunch and/or dinner.  I thought I would share my “how to” with you today.  These are the ingredients I’m using tonight…..hearts of romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, pre-packaged grilled chicken, olives and large flour tortillas.  I lightly heat up the tortillas by wrapping them in a damp paper towel….it makes them a little easier to work with and they are less likely to tear.  Wet the paper towel and wring out the excess water….you just want it damp, not soaking wet.  Place the tortilla on the paper towel and fold the bottom and sides…

    Outside My Window ~ 11.7.10

Outside My Window…is blue skies and sunshine ~ a beautiful day in the neighborhood albeit a windy one.  The temperature at 11:00 a.m. is 49ºF with winds at about 17mph, gusting up to 25mph which makes it feel like 43ºF outside.  A bit nippy for sure!  This may be our coldest day yet this season.  Our forecast high is 53ºF with windy conditions expected all day long and a low tonight of 36ºF.  We are a little below our average with these temperatures.  Right now it appears that the week will be just as beautiful but because of the chilly temperatures at night, I have brought all the plants inside that…

    Me and My Baby Girl

This is one of my favorite images of my baby girl…probably taken about 14 years ago. She is 16 now, but will always be my baby. I just spent the afternoon and early evening shopping with my baby girl. Teenage girls never tire when they shop. Older moms do.

    A Bug In My Soup

Not my normal type of photograph….this is actually a screen shot of my effects palette in PSE7.  See the little black boxes….there should be images in those boxes like in the first few.  After I ran into some problems with PSE7 on Monday, I decided to un-install and then reinstall the program.  After I reinstalled, the actions didn’t load properly…..and the program is still acting up.  I think I’m going to have to try it once more.  It isn’t difficult….more of an annoyance ~ like a bug in your soup.
