Short and Sweet
I’m tired this evening….not quite sure why. Feeling a bit like this morning glory…. shutting down for the night.

When frustrated….lighten up
I took some photographs yesterday and was going to post them today. I came home, selected the images I wanted to process and proceeded to work on them. It wasn’t working ~ I wasn’t happy with the results so I had to scrub that idea. I walked away from the computer. Then I got the idea I would revisit this day last year and re-process some images I had taken ~ like I did earlier last month….except I didn’t take any photographs on September 14, 2009. I took photos on the 13th and the 15th….nothing on the 14th. 😐 Back to the drawing board, I selected an image from the September…

Outside My Window ~ 9.12.10
Outside My Window…is cloudy with fog and light rain ~ about 70ºF at 5:47 p.m. ~ it has been cloudy, cool and rainy all day ~ fabulous! Believe it or not, I’m not being sarcastic either….as far as I am concerned this cool, gray, rainy day is just what I ordered. Lord knows we can definitely use the rain….and the clouds and cool weather is a welcome relief from the heat and sunshine. You are probably thinking I’m insane if you live in an area that has experienced cool temps and lots of rain this summer but we have been so hot and dry I was beginning to forget what this type of weather felt like. All those wishes from…

In Memory…..
From the 104th Floor A Poem by Leda Rodis When the plane hit the building rocked first to the right then to the left, and outside all the skyscrapers of New York seemed to tremble. The alarms screamed louder than we did, and I knew it was time to get away. It’s funny what you notice: a pen rolling across the floor my screen saver flicker and go off a picture of you and me at Coney Island. So much to leave behind. And yet so little. Running down the hall I remembered my mother taking me to the top of the Empire State Building when I was just a…

Mad With Joy
“People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.” ~ Iris Murdoch

Summerizing :: summer in review
Even though summer is fighting to hang on…the light has changed from a harsh summer glare to softer, golden tones of early autumn, the temperatures at night are just a bit cooler and there is a definite feeling of change in the air. I’m joining my friend Ella at lifeologia.com and “Summerizing” my summer. 🙂 What is the best memory of this summer for you? I don’t think I can pick just one memory……I have many. There were no extraordinary plans for the summer ~ I expected a very quiet one actually. And for the most part, that is what it was. What is the one event you looked forward to the most?…

Dream Realized
Last fall, I would pass by this house in Colonial Williamsburg that had a fence covered with morning glory flowers and vines….it was beautiful. The big, blue flowers would greet me every day before work. I decided I wanted to plant morning glories so they would grow over my fence by my front door and greet me each morning when I walked out. Dream realized……..

Paths
Isn’t this photograph beautiful? It is a gift from my friend Tracey at These Nine Acres. Unfortunately, my photo doesn’t really do justice to her actual photograph, but it gives you a general idea. I loved it when I saw it….I am a sucker for the forest and paths. I have this photo near my work space…close by so I can gaze at it and wonder where the path leads…what adventures await at the end….does it go on and on? That is the beauty of this image….it can take you anywhere you allow your mind to go. I have found myself questioning some of the paths I have taken in my life…
