    Friday Flashback

Mrs. Manfree’s First Grade Class I’ll give you a hint….second row from window, third seat back from chalkboard.  🙂 I can remember we use to go to the playground during rocket launches from Cape Canaveral.  It was a perfect place to see the Mercury missions as they appeared over the tree line.  We would all stand and watch as they soared into space. I can remember the regular “duck and cover” drills during the Bay of Pigs. I remember playing outside with your friends until dark….or until your mother called you home to dinner. I remember gas wars and gas prices at @ 25¢ per gallon. I remember riding our…

    The Trip Home

After our brief vacation in Florida, it was time to drive home.  My oldest daughter was the designated photographer with my point and shoot camera.  While she is the love of my life…I didn’t include the many, many, many photographs she took of herself on the post today.  🙂 Next….we go South of the Border…

    Indian River ~ Florida

The final images from my trip to Florida earlier this month. One last look at the Atlantic then on to the river. After spending some time at the beach and shopping, we made our way back to the house in time to walk to one of the piers not to far from my parents house.  I wanted to watch the sunset over the Indian River. We weren’t the first ones there…. According to a local, he is here every night at sunset…waiting…. …watching…. …enjoying the show with the rest of us.  🙂 While we wait…a view to the South of us…a storm appears to be building here and to our…

    Outside My Window ~ 10.23.2011

Outside my window…is another Sunday afternoon coming to a close.  It is 5:40 in the early evening here…we still have sunshine and blue skies…a temperature of 61°F…and according to the Weather Channel there is 41 minutes left of daylight.  Our forecast low tonight is 48°F…better bring in some of my houseplants that I had taken back outside, that is kind of chilly for them.  The sun is setting much earlier ~ if I want to  photograph more sunsets I better do so…after daylight savings time kicks in it will be a lot harder to get one.  I have some amazing ones to share with you later this week. I’m thinking…

    Not tonight…

I know I said more Melbourne Beach photos today…except not tonight.  I am past tired this evening…and not even sure why.  Oh well…..in the next couple of days I will share more photographs with you.  For this evening….I love how my oldest looks so tiny in comparison to the Atlantic Ocean and never ending blue sky.  I titled this image “In Awe”.
