Outside My Window ~ 12.18.2011
Outside my window…is nightfall in Hampton Roads. We are currently at 31°F with clear skies…forecast low is 30°F. Cold. Tomorrow is another story with a forecast high of 56°F and sunshine but it will get cold again tomorrow evening. There is no snow in the forecast…chance of rain on Christmas day, but no snow. It appears as if we are not the only ones who won’t have a white Christmas. So maybe the mountains of snow received last year were actually some of this years snow? Would seem so…places that usually have received quite a bit by this time of the season have received only a trace so far this…

Outside My Window ~ 4.24.11
Outside my window…the end of a beautiful, albeit very hot day. Very hot. At 7:00 in the evening it is 85°F as the sun is setting. I think our high was close to 90°F. That is too hot for Easter in my opinion…this is mid summer hot, not near the end of April hot. I don’t want to go from winter to summer…please. I am thinking…that it was a nice day…a nice dinner…and now a nice evening. The entire weekend has been very nice. And because it has been a nice weekend and turning into a nice evening….this is going to be short and sweet. From my kitchen…today it was potato salad…

Outside My Window ~ 12.19.10
Outside My Window…is cold, cloudy, windy and no snow. Bonus points on the no snow ~ the nor’easter they feared would potentially bring a good bit of snow to our area ended up tracking too far off the coast. We still have some on the ground from our last snowfall, not much but still some white here and there. Our temperature at 12:45 today is 36°F but with the winds feels like 26°F. We are quite close to our forecast high of 38°F for the day and the sun is expected to make an appearance….tonight will be quite cold again at 22°F. Outside My Window…is bright, blue, sun shiny skies. The temperature this morning at 8:45 is 49F with very light winds. The humidity is low ~ for us anyway ~ at 59%. Any morning you wake up with no dew on the windshield, you know the humidity is low that morning. Our forecast for today is 67F with partly cloudy skies. With the exception of Wednesday and Friday, we have had pretty decent weather during my time off. Rain showers are in the forecast for tomorrow. I noticed our precipitation for the month of November is already at 11.19 inches……10 of which was received during Nor’Ida earlier this month. It has been a soggy month. I…

Happy Thanksgiving!
At this time of year, I always remember the words from a song……… “Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother’s House we go…….” I can’t recall the title…..but the words always run through my head when Thanksgiving rolls around for some reason……… “The horse knows the way, to carry the sleigh………” There is also something else I remember when Thanksgiving rolls around……one of my favorite quotes regarding Thanksgiving…….
