Outside My Window ~ 1.13.2013
Outside my window…is the closing hours of what was a rather foggy weekend. The sun did manage to break through late this afternoon…it was nice to see it after a few days. In addition to the fog, it was unseasonably warm as well. Today we had a high temperature of 66°F . Currently at 9:30 this evening it is 62° and there is another dense fog warning for the evening. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for an 80% chance of rain and a high of 64°; we will drop down to the mid forties with rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. The ground is so saturated now…after three days of rain, it will be weeks before I can finish the…

Outside My Window ~ 4.17.11
Outside My Window…is bright blue skies….lots of sunshine….some wind….and about 59°F at 11:15 a.m. this fine Sunday morning. Our forecast high is 67°F with lots of sunshine and wind. That is to be expected after a cold front moves through the area I suppose..the wind. Yesterday was quite different ~ I woke up to cloudy skies, the kind that are dark and heavy and move quietly over you. I don’t believe the sun made an appearance at all yesterday. Later, the television began a series of warning alerts with advisories that we had severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes moving our way. As the sun set, the alerts came more often…the skies…

Introducing ~
Magikal Folk Photography Senior Rep Look out world….here comes Tyler! From the time he stepped out of his car until the last photograph was taken, this young man was exploding with energy and life! Without a doubt, he was one of the easiest individuals I have ever photographed. Wonderful personality! When Tyler is not in school, he loves skateboarding and is actively pursuing a career in modeling and acting. I have no doubt he will succeed.

Outside My Window ~ 1.30.11
Outside My Window…was an unbelievably beautiful day! For those of you that may be buried under snow, experiencing sleet and snow ~ I must apologize…for us it was blue skies, sunshine and 46°F at around 2:30. There was a slight breeze which made it feel like 42°F but I’m not complaining. The final weekend of January has been fabulous here in southeastern Virginia….sunshine, blue skies and mild temperatures for both Saturday and Sunday. The upcoming week isn’t forecast for bright skies and sunshine however. We are expecting thunderstorms for Wednesday while much of the northeast will experience a winter storm. I’m pretty sure we won’t have to worry about snow because…

Outside My Window ~ 1.23.10
Outside My Window…at 8:15 this evening is a dark and extremely cold night. We are currently at 26°F with a wind chill of 19°F….our forecast low is 16°F. C-O-L-D has been the forecast this winter for most of the country. I believe even Florida has experienced its share of frosty days and night. I also read that a good deal of the country has already experienced its annual snowfall. People are snow weary and we still have a couple of months of winter left. Brrrrr! I am enjoying a nice fire in my fireplace at the moment. I took a little nap in front of a fire last night in my hammock rocking chair last night….I usually have no problems napping in it, but the fire made it…

I Have Arrived
Earlier this week I participated in a photography assignment on The Pioneer Woman’s blog. She posted a photograph of her brother-in-law on horseback and asked that we edit it any way we wanted. When she has an assignment she will pick her favorites and at the end award a grand prize as well as runner up prizes….usually a generous gift card from B&H Photo online. Gift card = me buying some photo goodies that will make me smile. I have participated in a few of the past assignments and submitted a photo or two…but sadly my photos have never made the selected groups of photos for grand prize/runner up consideration. Well folks….that ends today….I have arrived! 🙂 This…

Paths
Isn’t this photograph beautiful? It is a gift from my friend Tracey at These Nine Acres. Unfortunately, my photo doesn’t really do justice to her actual photograph, but it gives you a general idea. I loved it when I saw it….I am a sucker for the forest and paths. I have this photo near my work space…close by so I can gaze at it and wonder where the path leads…what adventures await at the end….does it go on and on? That is the beauty of this image….it can take you anywhere you allow your mind to go. I have found myself questioning some of the paths I have taken in my life…

Credit Due
Earlier last month, the College of William and Mary hosted an employee appreciation luncheon for all the staff at the College. It is something they do each year….it is something we look forward to each year. The event is held in the Wren yard so while the temperatures are generally warm for the event, we are usually enjoying a light breeze under a huge canopy of shade trees. People are recognized for their longevity with the College and the State. Door Prizes are also given…some quite nice. But the reason we look forward to this day isn’t the shade trees, the break from work, the catered lunch….not even the door prizes ~ although the…
