    The Trip Home

After our brief vacation in Florida, it was time to drive home.  My oldest daughter was the designated photographer with my point and shoot camera.  While she is the love of my life…I didn’t include the many, many, many photographs she took of herself on the post today.  🙂 Next….we go South of the Border…

    Indian River ~ Florida

The final images from my trip to Florida earlier this month. One last look at the Atlantic then on to the river. After spending some time at the beach and shopping, we made our way back to the house in time to walk to one of the piers not to far from my parents house.  I wanted to watch the sunset over the Indian River. We weren’t the first ones there…. According to a local, he is here every night at sunset…waiting…. …watching…. …enjoying the show with the rest of us.  🙂 While we wait…a view to the South of us…a storm appears to be building here and to our…

Things that made me smile this week…

First….but no photograph….a check from the insurance company for my daughter’s car that surpassed my wildest dreams. Sweet! Wispy clouds that dance in a blue sky…. ….followed by beautiful sunsets…. …and my sweet moon shot ~ I know I posted it the other day, but it did make me smile this week  🙂  …. …new beginnings… …and waiting for them to say hello…. …an early morning movie to see the epic ending of a wonderful series of movies with my sister…. ….followed by lunch at one of our favorite restaurants where we talked almost non stop about the movie. PS ~ the movie did not disappoint…I loved it, right down to the last minute.…

  • Outside My Window

    Outside My Window ~ 7.11.11

Outside my window…is a warm and relatively humid night.  At 9:00 this evening we are currently at 85°F but it feels like 91°F.  I just stepped outside to see if it was still that warm outside…it is.  I suppose this is the head start  to a high of 98°F forecast for tomorrow.  I can’t get over the 90+ temperature days we have had so far this year.  I think there are more than a few people that will agree that this has been a hot, miserable season thus far.  I am glad…the blinding migraine that paid me a visit yesterday has decided to let up enough so I can almost function like a normal person again…

Things that made me smile this week…

First and foremost….I heard from the insurance company and the other person’s policy will be accepting the responsibility for these damages to my daughter’s car ~ wooo hoooo!  🙂  Now to hear from the claims adjuster…ever notice how insurance claims are always a game of hurry up and wait? There were other things to smile about as well…. My pineapple/coconut ice cream was delicious..and made without an ice cream maker.  I will have the recipe tomorrow in Outside My Window…. …little birds that peep and pose…. ….afternoon rain showers that has made everything lush and green…. …roses peeking out through the middle of the red maple tree… …more farm fresh goodness from friends….…

Visiting with my niece and her family while they were here on vacation… More bee action on the lavender… Friends who provide farm fresh goodness in pretty baskets… Enjoying a rainbow that followed a rain storm… …which was followed by amazing blue skies…. …and a prettiful sunset!  🙂 But the biggest smile of all….my first red tomato!!  Sweet! What made you smile this week?  🙂

    The End

I captured this image at sunset…looking south.  I believe this was the back end of the cold front that set off all of the horrible thunderstorms that produced so many tornadoes in the south.  There were still some dark clouds around here and there but for the most part, the storms have moved off the coast.  The line of storms still looks quite strong off the coast….this was one for the history books.  Oddly enough, you couldn’t see the setting sun, it was blocked by cloud cover.  These clouds must have been high enough to catch the last gasp of golden color.
