    Low Tide

I processed this image with two Shadowhouse Creations textures in PSE7.  First I used Ghostly multiplied at 85% and Arctic Chill as an overlay at 100%.   I like to take a lot of photos in an area I call the “boat docks” near my mother’s house.  Truth be known, it is actually comprised of several small fishing and walking piers and a place to launch your boat into the river.  It isn’t anything extravagant ~ and if you didn’t know the area, you wouldn’t even realize there was a dock at the end of the road.  One of the main roads to my mother’s house  dead ends at this place on the Warwick River.  The reason I love to come here is the…

    Snow & The Parkway

I posted this image earlier today when I wrote about snow on the parkway.  After I got home this evening, I reprocessed it using a “recipe” and a texture from Shadowhouse Creations.  I applied “Frost” from his Heavenly Vintage Texture Set at 100% linear burn…..I like this result better than the first.  I also used the same for the following photos….   This gives you an idea of what the Colonial Parkway is like.  It is a three lane, unmarked road with the center lane used for passing in allowed areas ~ which there are not too many.  It is a really beautiful drive….a nice way to begin and end your day.  🙂

    Working With Textures

I have been playing around with textures more when I process my photos.  I’m still quite new at it, but I’m having a good time learning.  The above texture on the Buckroe Lighthouse was compliments of Shadowhouse Creations.  Jerry, aka SkeletalMess, is so very talented and creates some amazing textures.  Bonus ~ they are all free!  Stop by and visit his site…..and while you are there, be sure to check out some of his art work….fabulous!!  🙂

    Outside My Window ~ 11.15.09

Outside My Window…is no wind and rain!  Yeah!  Fortunately, the low pressure system that caused us so many problems is well off the coast of North Carolina now.  I woke up early and saw some blue skies while the sun was rising, but clouds took over.  I just looked outside and it looks like that is attempting to burn off right now.  We are at 55F right now with about  87% humidity, but the best part….winds are non-existent!!  Our high is suppose to reach 72F today with partly cloudy skies.    We are still under a coastal flood watch until around 10 this morning.  I guess all the folks right on the coast…
