Please allow me to introduce myself….
My name is Debbie and I am a chicken little when it comes to critters and creatures. Many of you who have been visiting for awhile know I love to photograph sunsets….sunrises too but I don’t get the opportunity to shoot those that often, so I mostly have sunsets. One of my favorite locations for sunsets is the boat docks close to my mother’s house. Actually, a few small piers and the ability to put a boat in the water….but it is called the boat docks. You remember my post earlier about spring gnats…..and my extreme dislike for them. Well, my earlier encounter with them was nothing compared to Thursday night. They swarmed over me as…

I Do Not Like Spring Gnats!
I love these longer days……more daylight which equals the opportunity to take more sunset photos for me. I apparently can’t get enough. 🙂 But I have to tell you, on this day, it was rough. I was so excited when I pulled into the lot and jumped out of the car, camera in hand and ready to snap away. The sky was beginning to turn these amazing colors…..the water was like glass. I rushed down one of the piers, picked my spot and began to snap away. I went to reposition myself, lowered the camera and OH.MY.GOD! I can not even begin to explain the number of gnats that swarmed over me. …

Outside My Window ~ 3.7.10
Outside My Window…is a wonderful 59ºF with sunshine and blue skies at 2:30 p.m.. A little later post today….I woke up and dove right in to spring cleaning. I took a break to eat some lunch and thought it would be a good time to finish this post. We are at our forecast high for the day but the temperature tomorrow will be in the mid 60’s with lots of sunshine. I have noticed more and more robin redbreasts around the yard…..a sure sign spring is not too far off. I am thinking…I’m not so fond of the raccoon that has been coming into the backyard to snack on the sunflower…

Undecided
I got off work in time to get some sunset photos earlier this week. I’m having a hard time deciding which one to share with you ~ so I decided to pick all three. In case this is your first visit ~ I do love me a good sunset! 🙂 I wasn’t able to make this next one as large as I would have liked and it fit on the page properly….click on the image to get a larger view

Low Tide
I processed this image with two Shadowhouse Creations textures in PSE7. First I used Ghostly multiplied at 85% and Arctic Chill as an overlay at 100%. I like to take a lot of photos in an area I call the “boat docks” near my mother’s house. Truth be known, it is actually comprised of several small fishing and walking piers and a place to launch your boat into the river. It isn’t anything extravagant ~ and if you didn’t know the area, you wouldn’t even realize there was a dock at the end of the road. One of the main roads to my mother’s house dead ends at this place on the Warwick River. The reason I love to come here is the…

Outside My Window ~ 9.20.09
Outside My Window…is a beautiful almost fall morning. We are at 65F with 73% humidity, sunny with blue skies. The forecast is for a high of 78F with patchy clouds. Beautiful. The dogwood tree leaves are beginning to turn…..they are generally the first to turn around here. I have noticed quite a few berries on mine this year. It appears that when I get a lot of berries in the fall, I get more blooms the following spring. I am thinking…about how quickly summer seemed to fly by. It doesn’t seem like that long ago I was stressing over Alanna’s prom dress and graduation. Now school has started again and…

Outside My Window ~ 9.13.09
Outside My Window…is bright and sunny, a very nice 73F, light winds ~ enough to make my wind chimes sing to me ~ and 77% humidity. Last week we were experiencing fall type weather, which included lots of rain. I heard one day we got almost 5 inches of rain in a relatively short period of time. It just poured……and poured. We had two separate non-tropical systems park off the coast for a period. Winds weren’t too bad either time….or the ones I experienced anyway. It is forecasted to be in the lowers 80’s today….by mid week, in the upper 80’s and then we will cool down again. It appears…
