Free January 2012 Desktop Calendar
I was able to get past my mental block with resizing these free January 2012 desktop calendars and get them finished this evening. There are two selections this month ~ both taken during the first sunset of the new year: To download a zip file of this calendar, click here. There are six high resolution images available so you can select the one that best fits your screen. For directions on how to unzip and apply to your desktop, see the end of this post. To download a zip file of this calendar, click here. Again, there are six high resolution images available so you can select the one that…

Scenes from Lake Matoaka
While I was out and about the other day taking the photograph of Lake Matoaka for my desktop calendar, I took a few extras… The Lake Matoaka Amphitheater…the sky is totally blown out on this image, but I like it… ….and a view from the stage…

Outside My Window ~ 11.6.2011
Outside my window…is the first evening after daylight savings time ended. It is about ten minutes until eight but it feels much later than that. It has been dark forever….how can it not even be 8:00 yet?!?! It is currently 48°F with calm winds. Calm winds were not the norm around here this past weekend. Indian River ~ Florida

After spending some time at the beach and shopping, we made our way back to the house in time to walk to one of the piers not to far from my parents house. I wanted to watch the sunset over the Indian River. We weren’t the first ones there…. According to a local, he is here every night at sunset…waiting…. …watching…. …enjoying the show with the rest of us. 🙂 While we wait…a view to the South of us…a storm appears to be building here and to our…

Outside My Window ~ 10.23.2011
Outside my window…is another Sunday afternoon coming to a close. It is 5:40 in the early evening here…we still have sunshine and blue skies…a temperature of 61°F…and according to the Weather Channel there is 41 minutes left of daylight. Our forecast low tonight is 48°F…better bring in some of my houseplants that I had taken back outside, that is kind of chilly for them. The sun is setting much earlier ~ if I want to photograph more sunsets I better do so…after daylight savings time kicks in it will be a lot harder to get one. I have some amazing ones to share with you later this week. I’m thinking…
