Sunshine and Sunflowers

When I came home Tuesday afternoon, I discovered my neighbor had removed a tree that had blocked the sun from my garden area for a decent portion of the day.  She had talked about taking it down but said she wasn’t going to do so until next year.  Now my sunflowers are getting pretty much all day sun, and they are loving it…….

My babies are blooming!

As with all my photos now, if you click on the photo, it will take you to another page to see a much larger image.  In this particular photo, if you look real close over the middle bloom, you can see the moon…..teeny tiny, but still there.  🙂

And another shot….yea, I know ~ have you ever seen anyone so excited over sunflowers before!

And I have bees too!  I was working at home yesterday and went out to take a look, just to see if any were buzzing about and there were.  I haven’t started recording my data just yet, but based on the photos and information they provided, I had bumble and honey bees feasting on the flowers…..sometimes two at a time….

Bumble Bee

Those of you who know me well know taking these bee shots were something of a challenge for me.  You see, I don’t do bugs…at all……I flee from bugs.  It doesn’t matter that I am thousands of times larger than they are…….I still flee.  And bees especially…..imagine these shots are from the same person who while painting the trim on her house once ran screaming through her yard with a paint brush in one hand, a bucket of paint in the other as I fled from bees.  So for me to actually stand there, bees buzzing about and I’m getting closer and closer with my camera to point and click ~ well, quite an accomplishment for one who flees from bugs.  In fact, I was so brave that when I went to my favorite local nursery, I took my camera and got some more bee shots….they will come later.

How lovely for you to have even more sunshine. It is good to have a job like this done earlier than expected instead of it becoming a long drawn out process. It keeps neighbours friends. Keep up the lovely photos too, I don’t think you can take too many…
