And So It Begins….
I took this image a few weeks ago before a nor’Easter came into our area. This was the night before the rains came. We have another one that has set up in our area…..actually I suppose it started sometime during the early morning hours. It is around 3:00 pm now and it has been raining steadily since I got up at 5:30 this morning.
This is what I heard we can expect from this storm…….what was once Hurricane Ida is now located over Florida. It will venture out into the Atlantic, where sitting off the coast is an area of low pressure which probably wouldn’t become anything to worry about on its own. But it is expected to merge with the remnants of Ida, which will create a significant low pressure area. The problem is there is a high pressure system located in the northeast, which will trap this system and create a powerful coastal storm. If events play out like they are forecasting, we will experience a storm much like the one in October 1991…..the Halloween nor’Easter, or more popularly known as the Perfect Storm. The coastal areas from the upper coast of South Carolina up to Virginia will endure damaging storm surges and erosion. Forecasting rain totals ranging from 4 to 8 inches……..we are unfortunately in the higher range. This is expected to last for three days!
I’m thinking……..if you didn’t get your photos of the fall foliage in the mid-Atlantic region before today…..I wouldn’t count on too many leaves left by Saturday! Batten down the hatches folks ~ it’s gonna be a wet and windy ride!! Happy Veterans Day!

I know I shouldnt be jealous, because I know how those storms can be, very damaging. But I miss rain so much, that I almost wish that was heading our way! Beautiful, Beautiful photo!

Wet and rainy here in Northern Maryland today. Not torrential…but still wet, cold, and windy. I have candles ready…
