Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 4.25.10

Outside My Window…right now the sun is trying to break through and disrupt our cloudy day.  Temperature is 72º with 77% humidity…..in other words, muggy!  Our forecast high is 81º with a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.  It has been cloudy all weekend with rain off and on.  Not terrible weather, but I have held off on planting the flower seeds this weekend.  I didn’t want a down pour to wash them away.  Hopefully I can get them in the ground later this week.

I am thinking…that I wish I was still on vacation and relaxing here….

Granted, that means I would have been there for three weeks and probably way out stayed my welcome…..but it was oh so relaxing!!  🙂

I am thankful for…what appears to be less pollen outside lately.  It could have something to do with the every few day rain showers we have experienced….but I’m glad it isn’t quite so thick recently.

From the kitchen…will be not much today.  My mother has invited us to Sunday dinner with turkey breast and some fixings.  Sounds like a plan to me!  🙂

I am creating…the finishing touches on the wicker chest I bought at the estate sale last summer.  Hopefully I will have the finished by next weekend.

I am going…to finish organizing some recipes and paperwork today.  There is laundry to do…..dishes to wash….and dinner at my mom’s house.

I am hoping…this work week doesn’t drag on the like the last two have.  Everyone in the office was in agreement that this past Wednesday was the day the earth stood still.  I know the week after vacation generally feels like the longest one ever, but not the two after that.  Generally things fall back into routine and return to normal.  It could be spring fever I have been suffering from ~ we have had some pretty nice weather of late.

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks….the drama of all the folks on “The Hills” ~ an MTv television program my youngest is watching.

Around the house…as mentioned above….dishes to do…..laundry…..and a little picking up of things here and there.

Plans for the week include…finishing the wicker chest and working on uploading more photos on my Flickr accountI didn’t get the opportunity to work on the chest or add any more photos this past week so I’m hoping to get to work on both this week.

One of my favorite things…is the smell of freshly mowed grass and sage.  There is the one area near where my mother lives that I drive past after stopping by after work.  During the summer months when I drive by while they are mowing, the air is filled with the scent of freshly mowed grass and sage.  It is incredible….and one of my favorite scents.

A picture I’d like to share with you…remember the azaleas that were ready to explode…..they did!  🙂

Tracey ~ “The Hills” is one of the MTv shows where the very young twenty something female residents of Beverly Hills run about town complaining about how their diamond shoes are too tight or they can’t fit any more hundred dollar bills in their wallets. 🙂 I had to laugh several times when they were talking about how “stressful” life was ~ this as they ran around from club to club or restaurant to restaurant. The show is like a train wreck ~ you don’t want to look, but you can’t help it when it is right there.
