I Have Arrived
Earlier this week I participated in a photography assignment on The Pioneer Woman’s blog. She posted a photograph of her brother-in-law on horseback and asked that we edit it any way we wanted. When she has an assignment she will pick her favorites and at the end award a grand prize as well as runner up prizes….usually a generous gift card from B&H Photo online. Gift card = me buying some photo goodies that will make me smile.
I have participated in a few of the past assignments and submitted a photo or two…but sadly my photos have never made the selected groups of photos for grand prize/runner up consideration. Well folks….that ends today….I have arrived! 🙂
This isn’t my photograph….the image credit belongs to Ree Drummond. But the editing is mine…all mine….and she picked it as part of Group 3! Me….me….me! I got picked! Yes, yes, I’m a bit excited……..cause well you know, mine got picked! Will I win…..I don’t know, there are quite a few really good edits in these groups…..and it depends on what appeals to her. When I looked at her original image and noticed many of the other entries were quite colorful, I decided to go the other direction. I wanted something a little more than black and white and added a texture to age it a bit. When I was finished, it reminded me of an old tin type photo. I’m hoping it will appeal to her in the end……but if not, it feels pretty good to have been picked out of the hundreds and hundreds of entries. Sweeeeet! 🙂

I so hope you win! Your photo editing has just gotten so good over the last year it would be great to get the acknowledgment! Just getting through this far makes you a winner in my book.
