Outside My Window ~ 2.6.11

Outside My Window…is another gorgeous Sunday morning.  We have blue skies, sunshine and 45°F at 11:15 a.m..  Our high today won’t be much warmer than it is right now…a little chilly but hovering around our average temperature and it doesn’t feel too bad in the sunshine.  We did have quite a bit of rain yesterday morning ~ key word, rain.  We have been fortunate to miss the ice and snow everyone else seems to be getting but there is a chance of snow this coming Thursday.  That is several days off so I won’t be worrying about it for a few days.

I am thinking…about all the things I would like to accomplish today but it is quite a list.  I have a feeling I’m going to run out of hours in the day before I get too far down the list.  I usually wake up quite ambitious and ready to go….other times like today, taking it easy sounds like a pretty good idea.  We will see how much of that list gets completed.

I am thankful…that we have missed a lot of the winter weather that has been hammering most of the country.  The past two storms that have caused so many problems in the south and northeast have been nothing but rain for us.  Personally, I don’t mind the snow so much however the area I live in doesn’t have the resources to handle too much at one time.  Not to mention many of the drivers panic when they see a few flakes.   Ice and freezing rain is another subject…that can stay away forever as far as I’m concerned.

From my kitchen…will be something with bacon.  I have been craving bacon this past week.  Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich….bacon and egg sandwich….maybe just straight up bacon….I don’t know just yet, but there will be bacon.  Later this evening I’m thinking chicken stir fry or chow mien sounds good.

I am creating…or rather finished creating my Facebook page for Magikal Folk Photography and I actually hit publish.  Now click on over there and like me…if you want to that is.  No offense will be taken if you don’t though.  🙂  I don’t have much on there right now, just the welcome page I created yesterday.  I will hopefully add a little more this week.  By the way, thanks to Sharon with SKC Photography for pointing me in the right direction so I could create the welcome tab….I appreciate it.

I am going…to run a few errands as soon as I complete this then back to editing the photo shoot from last weekend.   I need to go through my selected photographs one more time and decide on the ones I want to make available in the gallery.  I decided to accept this young man as a senior representative for his school so I will be creating his referral cards as well.

I am reading…still working on Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.  I did get my evening of reading this past week but I didn’t last that long before I was snoozing on the couch.  I’m almost through it….I’m happy to have had the time to do the little bit of reading that I got accomplished this week.

I am hoping…our weather event is nothing like what others have been experiencing.  Just enough snow to go ooooo…..ahhhhh….pretty ~ and then go away.  🙂

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks…..the birds singing around the feeders outside….a noisy action movie on television that I hope will soon be over.

Around the house…dishes to wash…..laundry to do…..room to clean….same old thing, different weekend.

Plans for the week include…putting the final edits on and uploading the photographs from the photo shoot….a little more design work…..finish my book…work from home tomorrow and in the afternoon, take Cailin to court so she can get her “official” license.  Once the over the road portion of driver’s ed is completed, they get a card to carry with their learner’s permit so they can drive on their own.  The parent or guardian must accompany the child to court on the selected day to listen to the judge, a police officer and a city attorney lecture them prior to handing over the real deal license.  The courthouse is located in downtown Newport News ~ not one of my favorite places to frequent due to the many questionable ~ not to mention scary ~ neighborhoods that surround the area.  And bonus points….they have this session at 4:30 in the afternoon, lasts about forty five minutes and lets out right in the middle of rush hour.  I ask you, is this great planning or what?  🙂

One of my favorite things…is relaxing on my days off.  The days of total relaxation are rare…but I try to take advantage of it whenever possible.

A picture I’d like to share with you…I featured one of Cailin yesterday that was taken during dinner at Applebees this past week….today I have my lovely assistant ~ who just happens to be my “seester” as well.  She has a heart of gold….a great movie partner….carried all the gear on the photo shoot while she froze without a complaint…can make me laugh….and I love her dearly.  🙂   As with Cailin, I liked the image but the lighting in Applebee’s was pretty bad.  All of the images I took in there had this weird orange glow.  I was happy with this one after some adjustments in Lightroom and adding a  Florabella Luxe Action in Photoshop.  I love that I caught her just as she was getting ready to laugh.

    Hi Debbie,
I have been catching up with you. You have so many wonderful things going on. Your photography is fantastic and such an inspiration. Although I am a ‘point and shot’ type gal, I found some links for frames, etc. on some of your posts and downloaded some for my use. I hope I don’t embarrass myself. :0
I went to your FB page and clicked ‘Like’ and popped on over to your Magikal Folk Photography site. Great job, btw.
    Have a fantastic day.
