Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 8.13.2012

Outside my window…is the closing hours of Monday evening.  Yep, you usually see this on a Sunday however internet issues aggravated me enough last night I decided I would just walk away.  Sometimes that is the best thing….especially when working with electronics that would not handle being manhandled very well.  😀  It wasn’t that extreme but just enough to get under my skin so I walked away.  Right now we are at about 75°F with about 88% humidity….everything should be nice and wet tomorrow morning when I go out.  Our forecast low for this evening is 72°F, close to our temperature right now.  Today started out at 70°F and worked its way up to a warm 87°F.  When I checked the weather just now I saw an article that stated the temperatures should be cooling down for a time east of the Rockies…especially in the Midwest.  I don’t know how much it will effect our temperatures but any kind of cool off will be welcome.  I’m seriously looking forward to Fall and cooler temperatures.  It will be here before we know it….can you see the light changing?  I do know more rain is coming.  We had an incredible amount of rain this past Saturday….what I would imagine a monsoon would be like…once again flooding the streets around the area.  One thing I have noticed this year is everything is still incredibly green….not always the case this late in the summer.

I am thinking…that my daughter bringing this little dog into our lives was the best thing for me. A bit of back story before I go any further….I was once an avid runner.  I would run every day…rain, shine, day, night.  Flash back about 2 1/2 years ago and I’m laid up with a bad case of plantar fasciitis, a painful foot condition.  Mine was especially bad when I would get up in the morning, I had to walk on my tip toes with my right foot but  I could stretch it out enough and once I got running, the pain was gone….that is until I was inactive for a time or the following morning and it began all over again.  It got so bad I finally had to relent and give it a break for a while.  Now when I say I was avid, I was running each and every day for the most part so not being able too was one of the hardest things I had to do.  Days turned in to months and finally the foot healed….I could actually get out of bed and walk like a normal person.  But another thing happened during that time….I discovered I enjoyed sleeping in….and I lost my mojo.  It happens sometimes…..you quit running and then you lose the desire.  There have been times I thought about it but didn’t follow through.  Enter Turbo, the little dog that loves to walk….and loves to run even more.  This little guy has managed to get me up and walking more than I have in some time….I have even been running with him a little.  My legs are killing me and I’m feeling muscles I haven’t felt in some time….and I’m smiling.  After my difficulty while working in the yard last week, I knew I had to do something.  The running is slow going right now…there have been a few pounds gained and I’m a couple of years older….but I’m running again and I’m loving it!  And believe it or not, I’m not even minding the heat!  😀  And I have a little ball of energy named Turbo to thank for it.

I am glad…the dog is settling in just fine.  I was a little worried at first…was he really house trained or did they just say he was….will he listen….was he a chewer….will he bark non stop?  All these questions happily have good answers….he really is house trained and he does listen…he does not chew, might think about it but so far no chewing….and he doesn’t really bark ~ he kind of barks like a beagle, more of a howl?  He does give a little howl when he is excited to see you too.  Can you tell this little guy has won my heart?  😀

I am going to…continue working on my business plan.  I’m pleased with how things are coming together and hopeful I will have it all in place by Labor Day.

From my kitchen…is a work in progress for a different way to make my grilled chicken Caesar wrap….a hot version ala Tropical Smoothie versus the cold one I use to make…temperature wise that is.  I think I may have it, but want to try it another time or two before I share.

I am hearing…myself yawning rather loudly  😮 ….the ticking of my many clocks….an annoying commercial on television because lord knows we haven’t heard or seen enough political announcements yet this year.

Plans for the week include…more play time with the macro lens….playing around with a new method of shooting with bokeh {and I will share once I get it down}….working from home tomorrow….more walks and running further with Turbo.

One of life’s little pleasures….is finding something within yourself you thought you had lost.
