Outside My Window ~ 8.13.2012
Outside my window…is the closing hours of Monday evening. Yep, you usually see this on a Sunday however internet issues aggravated me enough last night I decided I would just walk away. Sometimes that is the best thing….especially when working with electronics that would not handle being manhandled very well. 😀 It wasn’t that extreme but just enough to get under my skin so I walked away. Right now we are at about 75°F with about 88% humidity….everything should be nice and wet tomorrow morning when I go out. Outside my window…is an evening inching towards completion. At a little past 10:00 p.m. we have cloudy skies…a fairly steady wind from the north at 14 mph. It is currently 81°F but feels like 84°F. Our forecast low for this evening is 75°F with a 50% chance of thunderstorms….a few may be severe. Our forecast high for tomorrow is our current “feels like” temperature, 84°F…and even though I’m sure the humidity is going to be fairly high, it will feel cooler than the past several days when our heat index has been 109°F to 115°F. I’m hoping some of the forecast rain materializes this week….after all this heat things…

Outside my window…is the closing hour of a wild weekend weather wise. It all began on Friday when a very intense and progressive derecho began in the mid-west and traveled cross country to the mid-Atlantic….and it didn’t loose any steam on the way. Our high on Friday was a uncomfortable 100°F. That storm blew in here a little before midnight with high winds, thunder, lightening and an unbelievable amount of rain all at once….it was intense and it was scary. Saturday was another scorcher at around 98°F and more storms that were a little weaker than the night before. Very early this morning I was awakened by what can only…

Outside my window…in a word, steamy. At 11:00 this morning, it is 80°F with 73% humidity and relatively no wind…steamy. Our forecast high for today is 89° with a 50% chance of thunderstorms. Yesterday we had a 30% chance of storms and storm it did, for quite some time around sunset and into the night. We received over a quarter inch of rain last night on top of the rain we received Friday night. My plants are loving these rainstorms after baking this past week in unbelievable heat. Outside my window…the end of a beautiful, albeit very hot day. Very hot. At 7:00 in the evening it is 85°F as the sun is setting. I think our high was close to 90°F. That is too hot for Easter in my opinion…this is mid summer hot, not near the end of April hot. I don’t want to go from winter to summer…please. I am thinking…that it was a nice day…a nice dinner…and now a nice evening. The entire weekend has been very nice. And because it has been a nice weekend and turning into a nice evening….this is going to be short and sweet. From my kitchen…today it was potato salad…
