Outside My Window ~ 11.18.2012

Outside my window…is a cold and windy evening.  The day started out with blue skies but windy and cool…the clouds moved in and it ended with gray skies, windy and cold.  Right now we are about 54°F and the winds are at 16 mph with gusts up to 23 mph.  There is a coastal flood advisory in effect until 10:00 tomorrow morning.  No rain this weekend but there is some forecast for around midnight tonight with our low temperatures a couple of degrees cooler than we are right now.  Tomorrow will be about the same as today, a high in the mid 50’s and lows in the mid 40’s.  Thanksgiving day is looking pretty sweet right now ~ sunshine with a high of 58°F…not bad.

I am thinking…I’m one happy camper that I get 5 days off for the holidays this week.  I can’t even begin to describe how ready I am for some extended time off.  And what is even sweeter…I only have to go back to work for three weeks and I get 18 days off.  Yes, 18 DAYS!   It will be like a little bit of heaven, I just know it.  🙂

I am glad…that I was able to get the blinds put up in my daughter’s room this weekend.  And what an improvement it is too.  The old ones will go to a thrift store.

I am going…to put together a list of things I would like to accomplish during my time off.  I’m pretty positive the list will be greater than time will allow, but I plan to make a decent dent in it.

From my kitchen…I was quite busy in the kitchen today….I made some biscuits for breakfast….bread for dinner tonight and the next couple of days….a pot of chili and some brown rice for dinner….and for a treat after my afternoon dog walk….white hot chocolate.  Has anyone tried the white hot chocolate from Dunkin Donuts?  This is real close….real close….and oh so easy to make.   Recipe for this a few other things will be coming this week.

I am hoping…that the forecast is correct and there is no rain in the morning.  It was quite cloudy and looked like rain when I was out before sunset.

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks….a Beatles song on a mattress commercial….the dog snoring quite loudly.

Plans for the week include…working from home on Tuesday….off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday….Thanksgiving at my mother’s on Thursday….completing a chore list the remainder of the days.  Oh…and of course there will be some relaxing time mixed in.

One of life’s little pleasures…is knowing that plenty of relaxing time is coming up.
