A-Tisket….A-Tasket
A basket of fresh Banty hen eggs. My friend at work brought me this basket full today….. I think I will make an artichoke frittata this weekend.

Sunday
It was a beautiful, busy Sunday…..and before I knew it, the day was gone. Outside My Window is normally here on Sunday… …but I couldn’t concentrate on it this evening. Tomorrow.

Once Upon A Time
I remember when fast food restaurants were rare…. ….and they had drive up ordering. The car hop would bring your food out on a tray… ….sometimes on skates. The tray had hooks on the bottom which they would hang on the partially rolled up window….usually on the drivers door. You sat in the car and ate the most amazing burgers…. and thick french fries… ….ice cold Coca Cola…. ….and shakes that you could barely suck through the straw. It just isn’t the same now.

Unofficial
The rain has stopped….for the most part. There is a chance for showers this morning from a system moving across the lower part of the state, but that is slim. The skies are gray and cloudy….the wind is blowing just enough to make my wind chimes sing to me. The air is cool….crisp. This was my view as I looked out my storm door yesterday. It was a perfect day to work from home ~ I arranged to do so earlier in the week not even realizing what was to come. I couldn’t have planned it any better. It was a constant, steady rain….sometimes, it was torrential rains. Our unofficial total for the day was 6.05…

Well…….
Remember how I was saying all summer long how I wished it would rain…. …and how I was so happy these past two days we were finally getting rain? Well…..see the big clump of yellow over Eastern Virginia? Wish Granted! I guess I should have specified I didn’t mean all at once.

Saying Goodbye…With Chocolate
Tomorrow we will say goodbye to the Associate Director of Finance in my department….he is my boss, the man above my supervisor. It was kind of sudden….we didn’t even know he was considering it until about a month ago. He told us yesterday during his farewell luncheon the stars aligned and things fell into place ~ the time was right. At 65, he is looking forward to watching many sunrises and sunsets with his wife at his beach house in Nags Head. This week his smile has grown bigger and brighter each afternoon when it is time to leave. To send him off just right ~ I made brownie bites with cream cheese frosting…..they made him smile…

“And So Goes My Heart…”
One of my favorite locations to take photographs is the boat dock area near my mother’s house. That area happens to be across the Warwick River from Fort Eustis Army Base. From time to time you will hear them doing exercises….it could be a bit unsettling if you were not expecting the sound of weapons exercises. And on several occasions helicopters will fly down the river heading back to the base. This shot was taken with my Canon point and shoot last year about this time. I adjusted and processed the image in Lightroom and Topaz, finally resizing and watermarking in PSE7. This is one of the images I didn’t think I could use…
