    Outside My Window ~ 11.11.2012

Outside my window…is the closing hours on a fabulous weekend in Southeast Virginia.  You couldn’t ask for two better days this weekend ~ blue skies, sunshine and mild temperatures.  We are expecting rain by Tuesday and more seasonal temperatures.  At 10:00 this evening it is 57°F with clear skies and little to no wind.  Temperatures are suppose to stay around the mid 50’s all night and back up into the low 70’s tomorrow. I am thinking…those folks in the Northeast have probably had enough weather for a long while.  On top of the weather woes they have to deal with long lines for gas….if they can find any.  I imagine…

    Outside My Window ~ 11.4.2012

Outside my window…is another cloudy Sunday.  Fortunately there is no rain in the forecast however we are expecting another nor’easter to develop off the North Carolina coast this coming week.  It is not expected to be near the strength Sandy  was but it will be enough of a nuisance with the cold winds and rain…rain we really don’t need at this point.  There are areas that are still quite saturated from the storm last week.  At 8:00 this evening we are currently at 39°F with calm winds.  We are basically at our forecast low for the night.  I probably should have brought some of my plants back into the house…

    Outside My Window ~ 10.28.2012

Outside my window…is a dreary, rainy, windy, chilly, miserable morning.  Yup, I think that about covers it.  We are awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Sandy sometime tomorrow but because the storm is so huge, we are getting a taste of what is to come for now.  The rain started late yesterday afternoon….the wind began about that time too.  It rained all night….not torrential downpours, just a steady rain…and the wind really picked up the pace sometime in the early morning hours.  Right now, at 9:00 Sunday morning, it is 59°F and the winds are at 19 mph, gusting to 32 mph from the northeast.  The front that moved across the…

    Outside My Window ~ 10.14.2012

Outside my window…is a beautiful, fall day ~ albeit a warm one.  The temperature is 71°F  at 12:50 p.m. and it is suppose to get a bit higher than I would prefer.  The high is forecast to be 75°F today, blue skies, mostly sunny and a very low chance of rain.  Our next chance of rain is tomorrow evening with a scattered chance of thunderstorms ~ and a forecast high of 77°F for the day.  We will slip back into the low to mid 60’s for a couple of days and then back into the mid 70’s.  These roller coaster temperatures have been happening this past week during the day…
