    Outside My Window ~ 7.01.2012

Outside my window…is the closing hour of a wild weekend weather wise.  It all began on Friday when a very intense and progressive derecho began in the mid-west and traveled cross country to the mid-Atlantic….and it didn’t loose any steam on the way.  Our high on Friday was a uncomfortable 100°F.  That storm blew in here a little before midnight with high winds, thunder, lightening and an unbelievable amount of rain all at once….it was intense and it was scary.  Saturday was another scorcher at around 98°F and more storms that were a little weaker than the night before.  Very early this morning I was awakened by what can only…

    Outside My Window ~ 6.24.2012

Outside my window…is a beautiful albeit hot day.  Blue skies….sunshine….puffy white clouds for the most part.  I am noticing some of the clouds are getting darker though….there is a chance for scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.  Right now it is 87°F with 47% humidity and a very slight breeze is present….very slight.  The low humidity is keeping the heat index at about the same level as our temperature.  I’m happy for this warm day….to see the sun shine…but at the same time, it doesn’t feel right either. I’m thinking about…so many things the past 36 or so hours….since I found out my step-father had passed away in the early morning hours…

    Papa Harris

He always had a smile…. ….and one of the biggest hearts. He loved horses….fishing….Nascar….and a cold beer on a hot day. When someone needed help, he never hesitated. He was honored to serve his country in the Navy…. ….and after retiring from the military worked as a butcher. He was an excellent cook….I loved his fried rice. And without a doubt, he loved his family. Tonight our hearts are broken…. ….we love and miss you Papa. Outside My Window ~ 6.17.2012

Outside my window…is the closing hours on the final Sunday for Spring 2012.  According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac the Summer Solstice will occur on June 20, 2012 at 7:09 p.m..  Next week the view will change outside my window…summer is here.  It is almost 6:00 in the evening in Hampton Roads….the sky is mostly cloudy but there are snippets of blue sky and sunshine…and the temperature right now is about 70°F.  There is very little chance of rain tonight and for the most part the clouds that are out right now are white and fluffy.  It has been a mild and breezy weekend….my wind chimes sang plenty of songs…

    Outside My Window ~ 6.10.2012

Outside my window…was a bright, sunshiny day…..blue skies, not a cloud in sight but as I look out now, looks like storm clouds may be building.  At almost 4:00 in the afternoon, we are at 88°F with a little over 40% humidity….not very high for this region.  I’m not sure if the clouds will amount to anything, the forecast calls for partly cloudy.  I have seen it pour rain…for a very long time…when there was only a 30% chance of rain however.  This weekend has been considerably warmer than our past week was.  We had lots of rain at the beginning of the week and then mild temperatures….it was very…
