    You would think…

…I would be more detail oriented…someone who pays attention to numbers.  After all, I work in accounting…numbers are my life.   So I’m sitting at my desk, eating my lunch when I began to think I have a blogging anniversary coming up.  It was around this time of year I began this little blog so I go online to check it out.  And I was right, there was a blogging anniversary…..last month!  How could I miss that I wondered?  It made me wonder if I missed some other milestone….and I did.  I missed the 500th post several months ago!  Over five hundred times I have sat down at the computer, tippy tapped on the keyboard and then hit publish.  All this…

    Outside My Window ~ 4.10.2011

Outside My Window…is the sun setting on another Sunday and the end of my vacation.  At 7:42 p.m., we are at 60°F ~ a few degrees warmer than what our low will be for the evening.  Today was amazing after a very chilly return from vacation.  We arrived home Friday evening to rain and quite chilly temperatures…a huge difference from where we had departed from.  Saturday was also quite cool and overcast….I felt like I drove back in time to winter again.  🙂 I am thinking…I could get use to relaxing time and being away from work.  Of course, I probably would miss eating, a roof over my head and other…

    Outside My Window ~ 4.3.11

Outside My Window…is dark and with some high clouds.  The temperature at 8:30 is currently 59° with little to no chance of rain.  Oh…and this happens to be the weather at my parents house in Catawba, South Carolina where I am currently relaxing.  8)   I am thinking…that because I am in the midst of relaxing time, this will be short and sweet tonight. I am glad…I am able to travel and spend time with my parents. From my kitchen…is not a thing at the moment, but I will leave this paragraph in future postings and highlight a different recipe I have tried or discovered. I am currently working on…lowering my blood pressure, clearing the…

    Random Photos As A Passenger

My youngest daughter and I joined my sister and her husband for a ride over to MacArthur Mall  in Norfolk on Saturday. Afterwards I determined that they need to spend some time on I64 in this area…. the car rode beautifully….the road was horrible and bumpy. Generally there are a few aircraft carriers in port at the naval base…not today. This was taken after we came out of the tunnel on the Norfolk side. Heading home later that evening….on the Norfolk side of the tunnel entrance. Traffic is light here….my brother-in-law bypassed the backup so we basically zipped home. Traffic at this bridge tunnel on a weekday afternoon…or during the summer…is a nightmare.…

    Outside My Window ~ 3.27.11

Outside My Window…is cold…cloudy….windy….and if I’m not mistaken, there is a fine, powdery snow coming down right now.  Snow ~ really?  The flakes are so tiny it looks like misty rain when the wind is blowing, but when it stops you can see there is more to it than just misty rain.  Weird.  All of the bulbs and flowers beginning to bloom from our fine weather these past two weeks and now this.  Winter’s last gasp perhaps…or March showing us that it can come in like a lion and leave like a lion rather than a lamb?  Our current temperature is 36°F but feels like 29°F, probably because of the wind.  Forecast…

    I surrendered…I caved…or the post otherwise known as look what I got…

You may remember my quest to obtain a decent looking camera bag….one that I could use in place of my humongous, ugly camera bag.  I had lusted after other camera handbags I had seen online, but their prices were more than I wanted to pay for something I wouldn’t use all the time.  True, I do generally carry my camera with me where ever I go,  but I didn’t want my everyday handbag to be a camera handbag quite honestly.  I just wanted sometime a little more attractive that I could carry when I went to a family function or a restaurant with family and friends that would also protect my camera.  While I have no doubt the vendors…

    12/52

The theme for week 12….From the Jewelry Box. I wanted to feature the box instead. My father was in the Navy when I was growing up and was deployed more than once. He brought back some beautiful Japanese dolls in glass cases when he came home….. …I don’t know what ever became of those dolls. One time, he came home with my very first “big girl” jewelry box. With the ballerina that stood up and twirled when you opened the lid, twirling to the sweet Japanese melody that plays from the music box within. The jewelry box is old ~ maybe very close to 50 years old…. the ballerina no longer twirls…. but the…

    And she was still smiling…

My sister….heart of gold. I invited her to my house for dinner and a movie on Saturday. I was cooking her favorite meal for her. But….before she can eat, she has to go to the airport with me. And creep around out of the way places…. ….looking for a good place to take a photograph…. ….of the moon. We saw the moon…. ….we finally ate…. ….and when we finally sat down to watch the movie, I couldn’t help but notice…. …she was still smiling. It is why I love her so.
