    This Moment #13

A Friday ritual.  A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week.  A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.   If you’re inspired to do the same, leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to find and see. Looking Back ~ August 3rd

I came home from work a little early today….I actually brought some things home with me to work from home.  I have been feeling a bit under the weather the past couple of days and will work from home tomorrow so I can fully recover.  I have a trip coming up don’t ‘cha know…have to be 100% before next week.  🙂 After I arrived home, I laid down for a bit and contemplated what I wanted to post about today.  I had an idea….I would go back and revisit some photos I took on this day last year.  I have learned volumes in the past year….especially in the field of editing and…

    Bruton Parish Church

I processed this image to give it a vintage type post card look.  I was attempting to get this shot without anyone in the photograph and I almost succeeded.  Do you know how hard it is to get a shot of any landmark in Colonial Williamsburg without people ~ especially in the summer?  Well let’s just say I’m extremely lucky there is only one family and one couple (behind the tree) in the image.  Generally people are crawling all over these grounds like ants on an ant hill.   I waited and waited ~ the life of a photographer….lots of waiting sometimes for your shot.  Here’s a little info about the subject matter ~ no worries…I will…

    Outside My Window ~ 8.2.10

Outside My Window…is a different view than you normally hear about.  I’m publishing this from work today so there is still mad construction going on outside my window.  If you remember I told you about the view from my office and the heavy equipment previously….well, it isn’t that close now and it appears they are trying to wrap up this segment of the Power Plant upgrade.  Of course they dug a trench around the building this morning and have roped the area off  not to long after everyone arrived ~ not sure how they expect people to get in and out ~ but when 4:30 rolls around this afternoon, they will either have it opened back up…

    Baby Mine

Baby mine, don’t you cry Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part Baby of mine Little one when you play Pay no heed to what they say Let your eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear Baby of mine If they knew all about you They’d end up loving you too All those same people who scold you What they’d give just for the right to hold you From your head down to your toes You’re not much, goodness knows But you’re so precious to me Sweet as can be Baby of mine Happy 19th Birthday….My Sweet Big Girl I love you……..Mom…

    Teenage Girls

Teenage [ teen àyj ] (A period between the ages of 13 and 19) I have two of them….teenagers. 16 and 19. They argue….complain about each other….can’t agree on anything. I wonder if they will ever get along. And then I run across some old pictures…and I remember ~   …how she looked after her….how she still does. And even though they argue….complain about each other….can’t agree on anything…. I know she will always look after her….and I know they will be fine.

    Wednesday

I love this plant….so full, so lush and green. And the flowers make me smile. This is what the drought has done to it. I came home from work recently…it was wilted and withered from the heat. I watered but it wasn’t time to save the leaves that were on it ~ they shriveled and died. The plant seems to be surviving and perhaps even coming back. I’m officially not a fan of droughts.
