    Experimenting

I have been playing with another photo tutorial this evening…….my oldest daughter and her boyfriend……..before ~ ….and after I applied a few layers and filters…… Can you see the difference?  There is a name for this type of look but for the life of me, I can’t remember what it is called.  😕

    Slipping Away

I was playing around with a couple of post processing tutorials I found this evening when I realized the evening was slipping away.  This is one of the images I was playing with…..a garden decoration in my backyard I photographed this past weekend.  I was relaxing in a lawn chair and noticed the colors as the sun was setting.   The tutorial I was playing around with is one that adds a dramatic and gritty effect to images.  I had a few others I was working on ~ but the hour is getting late.

    House Hunting

Our resident duck couple appeared to be house hunting the other day….. What do you think of this one dear? I don’t know…..it seems kind of small. But the yard looks great ~ full of bugs and such…. No, too small…..let’s keep looking. Yea, I know….my kids tell me I’m weird sometimes.  🙂

    Outside My Window ~ 4.25.10

Outside My Window…right now the sun is trying to break through and disrupt our cloudy day.  Temperature is 72º with 77% humidity…..in other words, muggy!  Our forecast high is 81º with a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.  It has been cloudy all weekend with rain off and on.  Not terrible weather, but I have held off on planting the flower seeds this weekend.  I didn’t want a down pour to wash them away.  Hopefully I can get them in the ground later this week. I am thinking…that I wish I was still on vacation and relaxing here…. Granted, that means I would have been there for three weeks and probably…

I Do Not Like Spring Gnats!

I love these longer days……more daylight which equals the opportunity to take more sunset photos for me.  I apparently can’t get enough.  🙂  But I have to tell you, on this day, it was rough.  I was so excited when I pulled into the lot and jumped out of the car, camera in hand and ready to snap away.  The sky was beginning to turn these amazing colors…..the water was like glass.   I rushed down one of the piers, picked my spot and began to snap away.  I went to reposition myself, lowered the camera and OH.MY.GOD!  I can not even begin to explain the number of gnats that swarmed over me. …

    Happy Earth Day!

On April 22, 1970, approximately 20 million people gathered together to increase public awareness about protecting and preserving the planet.  Forty years ago today, the first Earth Day was officially celebrated.  Since that day, we have made tremendous strides in caring for mother earth and making people aware ~ but there is still plenty of room for improvement.   Several things you could do to help ~ please consider recycling if you don’t already….eliminate the use of pesticides in your lawn or garden…..buy energy saving bulbs and appliances. We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors… we borrow it from our children. ~ David Brower ~

    Remember This?

Remember this….the wicker trunk I picked up at an estate sale this past summer?    No?  Well…..it did get pushed to the bottom of my things to do list and has sat in the corner of my living room, waiting patiently for me to do something with it.  The trunk was in great shape but the colors were pretty drab….and I wasn’t so fond of the orange flowers on the front.  Nothing against orange flowers mind you ~ just not what I was looking for.   On top of that….the lining was less than desirable….. It was a weird plastic type stuff…….and kind of grungy…..so I pulled all of that out.  I had…
