    Photos & Little Letters

Dear People Who Text While You Drive, Are you kidding me? If you are that anxious to wreck your car, there are plenty of walls you could run in to and it wouldn’t damage any other cars in the process. Dear Spam Commenter, While I’m happy you think my post on a local park “sounded delicious”, or you must “disagree with my political views” when I post a recipe…I’m still not going to approve your comment and help you sell your wares.   Dear Townhouse Landscapers, I really wish you wouldn’t blow all the debris from the parking lot into the flower beds I spent hours cleaning or all over our vehicles.  It is…

    Happy St Patrick’s Day + 200

Welcome St. Patrick’s Day 2010.  I believe in a previous life I must have lived, loved and died in Ireland.  I don’t believe there is a single place on this planet that I have wanted to set foot on more than the Emerald Isle, or Eire.   The land calls to me…..and when I look at images, especially older ones like the one above, it feels so familiar.  ~  Sigh  ~  Perhaps one day I will wander the hills and shores…..and know this is home. There are so many things associated with St. Patrick’s Day….green being the number one thing that comes to mind.  Always had to wear green to avoid being pinched.  I…

    Reading Time

I spied this scene outside my back door this past weekend.  My fairy statue appears to be reading to the neighborhood squirrel. I always wondered what happened in the backyard when I wasn’t looking.  🙂

    Yet Another Reason

I have an extreme dislike for raccoons.  I love hummingbirds.  This is my hummingbird feeder I happily filled yesterday afternoon and hung it on the designated hook on my fence….the one I installed last year when I hung my feeder.  I originally had a little fancier feeder, but the hummers didn’t seem to interested in it….so I opted for this less expensive one.  Day after day I would watch the feeder, hoping for visitors.   Sadly, I didn’t experience hummers….but it was late in the year by the time I hung my feeder.   I was very hopeful for this year….I would get mine out early.  I was timing it with the growth of a large bush…

    Outside My Window ~ 3.14.10

Outside My Window…is a cloudy and dark evening.  I’m a bit late today but thought I would change it up some and do one in the evening.  I was on a roll this morning, the weather was decent and I took advantage of it to get some things done outside.  Of course, we have had rain since Thursday so it was pretty wet but I did manage to get a few weeds pulled.  Most of my outside time was spent cleaning out the shed.  I had made a note to do that as soon as possible ever since the night I had to go check a breaker and almost couldn’t…

    One Year

One year ago today, I made the decision to join the Land of Blog.  I nervously typed my little message and hit publish.  There it was…my first post….I was official.  I really had no clue as to what I was doing.  I happy to say I finally figured things out and even to this day, I’m still learning.  In this past year, I have met wonderful people…..I have learned so much about so many different places, different lives.  But when you really think about it, we are all pretty much the same.   This past year was better than I thought it would be….I’m so happy to know you all!  Thank you for…

    For Our Children’s Children

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to call for action on climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. The movement symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in this fight, protecting our future and that of future generations. Learn more about how Earth Hour began, what we’ve accomplished, and what is in store for 2010. We participated last year and it was actually kind of nice….I lit a hurricane lamp, some candles and we sat around and talked during our hour.  My daughter had a friend stay the night and…
