Outside My Window ~ 12.23.2012
Outside my window…is the closing hours of the last weekend before Christmas ~ and a rather chilly one at that. There were cooler temperatures and wind which made it seem all the more colder. When I went out to walk the dog this morning it was 27°F with wind. There was frost everywhere…as close to snow as we will probably get this year for the holidays. Currently at 10:00 in the evening we are at 47°F. The forecast low this evening is 41°F with temperatures dropping into the mid 30’s with mostly cloudy skies by early morning. Our high for Christmas Eve will just hit 50°F with rain beginning around…

Outside My Window ~ 11.28.2011
Outside my window…is a Monday rather than a Sunday. Maintenance on the sight last night prevented me from posting when I wanted to….I was exhausted and decided it would need to wait until today. 🙂 I worked hard during the holidays and my time off….from preparing a Thanksgiving dinner from start to finish for the first time in over twenty years to my endless fall cleaning to putting up and decorating the Christmas tree. The holiday started off rather cool but ended unseasonably warm. Our average for this time of year is 57°F….our high temperature yesterday was 70°F. Currently {at noon} it is 71°F….and our high is forecast for…

The One Where I Almost Choked To Death
This is me….celebrating my birthday and Christmas many years ago. I’m a Christmas baby. Earlier today, my older brother would say to me “wouldn’t it be weird if you died on the day you were born?” He had a reason for saying this to me. Let me go back a few hours….to around 1:30 when we sat down to Christmas dinner. I was sitting at the “adult” table with my sister, her husband, my younger brother, his wife and my step father. Outside My Window ~ 12.19.10
Outside My Window…is cold, cloudy, windy and no snow. Bonus points on the no snow ~ the nor’easter they feared would potentially bring a good bit of snow to our area ended up tracking too far off the coast. We still have some on the ground from our last snowfall, not much but still some white here and there. Our temperature at 12:45 today is 36°F but with the winds feels like 26°F. We are quite close to our forecast high of 38°F for the day and the sun is expected to make an appearance….tonight will be quite cold again at 22°F. Better But Cold!
I’m feeling better each day….still very croaky and my throat is a little rough… And a cough that won’t go away…. my supervisor mentioned it sounded like bronchitis today. Jeez….I hope not. Disappointed Tonight
Tonight was our city’s annual tree lighting celebration, HollyDazzle. They have school children singing carols, street vendors, lots of people laughing, talking and visiting while they wait for the fireworks and the tree lighting. Sadly, my hope to feel better last night didn’t pan out ~ I actually felt worse when I woke up this morning. 🙁 I called in to work while I stayed in bed the entire day and most of the evening so far. I’m sitting here now listening to the fireworks go off in the distance. Soon I will be getting ready to crawl back into my bed, starting to feel rough again. Outside My Window ~ 11.28.10
Outside My Window…is dark and chilly. Currently at 8:00 p.m., the temperature is 34°F….no wind so there is no wind chill to factor in. Today was a nice day albeit a chilly one. Also outside my window are the Christmas lights decorating our window, shrubs and tree out front. It was a bit brisk while putting them out but I managed to stay warm with all the moving around. I do have a couple of shrubs that are without lights…two strands were not working so they will need to be replaced. I can’t quite figure out how they were working when I put them away and not working when I unpack…

Outside My Window ~ 12.27.09
Outside My Window…is a beautiful morning. Blue skies, sunshine a bit chilly at 42F with a 38F wind chill. The forecast for today doesn’t change much….a high of 56 with some clouds coming in this afternoon. We had a lot of rain with a high of 56 on Christmas Day. It didn’t begin to rain until around 2:00, but it continued throughout the night. Yesterday we woke up to cloudy skies and fog, but still relatively mild temps. For the coming week the temps will hover in the low to mid 40’s. I am thinking…about what I want to do today. Now is the time to get rolling on my list of things…
