Teenage Girls
Teenage [ teen àyj ] (A period between the ages of 13 and 19) I have two of them….teenagers. 16 and 19. They argue….complain about each other….can’t agree on anything. I wonder if they will ever get along. And then I run across some old pictures…and I remember ~ …how she looked after her….how she still does. And even though they argue….complain about each other….can’t agree on anything…. I know she will always look after her….and I know they will be fine.

The First One
This is the first time my big girl drove away in her new car this past February….right after we got home and put the plates on, she was off to show her friends…it was not spanking new, but it was new to her. The car is in excellent shape for its age….no dings, no bumps, no bruises. So you can imagine how she felt when she received the first one this past Saturday night….nothing catastrophic or life threatening, but it was a very big deal to her. Her ‘baby’ had been damaged. While driving home from work Saturday evening, a truck carrying construction debris dropped a hunk of something on the road. …

This Moment #8
{this moment} A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you’re inspired to do the same, leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to find and see. (copyright SouleMama 2010) . Inspired by SouleMama and passed on to me by CoffeeShop Free Actions….why not leave your moment with them as well.

She’s Sweet 16
My baby….my little peanut head….turned 16 today. Sweet baby Cailin came into the world in the afternoon, a result of a scheduled C-section. I was once again over due and the doctor once again suggested inducing labor. I was not so fond of that idea because as my grandmother told me after my first baby was born via C-section after a failed induction, I was old and my bones did not want to move. She meant it with all love and kindness although it did sound funny when she said it. The surgery was a breeze, Cailin squalled like a much larger baby as I watched them work over her…

Outside My Window ~ 3.14.10
Outside My Window…is a cloudy and dark evening. I’m a bit late today but thought I would change it up some and do one in the evening. I was on a roll this morning, the weather was decent and I took advantage of it to get some things done outside. Of course, we have had rain since Thursday so it was pretty wet but I did manage to get a few weeds pulled. Most of my outside time was spent cleaning out the shed. I had made a note to do that as soon as possible ever since the night I had to go check a breaker and almost couldn’t…

Outside My Window ~ 2.28.10
Outside My Window…is blue skies, sunshine and a slight breeze. The temperature at 11:30 a.m. is 42º with a 37º wind chill….forecast high is expected to be around 54º. It doesn’t actually feel all that chilly outside. I was surprised to see the wind chill was that low. I went out earlier this morning without a jacket and thought it felt quite nice. I am thinking…about all the things I need to get accomplished today. It is a bit of a list, but not an impossibility. I started some chores early this morning and decided to take a break to do this post for the day. I am thankful for…not getting sick last…

Outside My Window ~ 2.21.10
Outside My Window…is blue skies, sunshine and 38ºF. And we have had a moisture free weekend…that makes two in a row. Our forecast high is for 57ºF today. Our next chance of rain is Monday afternoon and evening. Our next chance of snow is Thursday with a forecast of a few snow showers. But our high for that day is forecast in the 40ºF range, and because of the previous days of 50ºF plus weather, I doubt it will cause too many problems. I believe we are getting a little late in the season for snow to impact us too much until spring. That doesn’t mean we won’t get a…

The First
As we sit and wonder what the third storm in two weeks will bring, I thought I would show you some photos I took after the first on January 30th. We haven’t experienced the snow our friends to the north of us have, but this storm brought a substantial amount for us. This is the storm that brought us the most snow we have seen in this area in a few years. I got up bright and early the next morning to blue skies and sunshine. These are my snow shovelers…..my oldest and her boyfriend. They did an excellent job clearing the walk and around the Jeep….and hamming it up for the camera. 🙂 My…
