    Outside My Window ~ 12.30.2012

Outside my window…is a cold and blustery day.  There is sunshine….there is blue skies…but there is also northwest winds blowing at 23 mph.  It is about 3:00 in the afternoon and our current temperature is at 46°F…factor in the wind and it feels like 38°F.  A bit brisk outside.  We had quite a bit of rain the day after Christmas and again yesterday but today has been dry, humidity is even quite low at 33%.  We are forecast to dip down to 29°F this evening….might be a good night for a fire. I am thinking…about so many things recently….the events of the past year…what the new year will bring. I…

    Outside My Window ~ 3.12.2012

Outside my window…is the end of another beautiful day.  The temperature today was around 75°F with sunshine and blue skies…..just beautiful.  This past Saturday was a bit chilly but sunny…Sunday was warmer with sunny skies.  We are currently at 64°F with slight breeze…low tonight is suppose to be 54°F with a chance of showers.  Our high tomorrow, 70°F….as well as the next five days after that.  There is a chance of rain Tuesday morning….but sunny for the remainder.  The trees are flowering….I fear the pollen will be kicking in to full gear any time now….it is already a little challenging. From my kitchen…was dinner out with my former boss and…

    March Full Moon

“The full Moon in March is known by many names: the Worm Moon, Sap Moon, Crow Moon, Crust Moon, Sugar Moon, and Lenten Moon. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the native tribes of what is now the northern and eastern U.S. named this the Worm Moon after the earthworm casts that appear as the ground thaws. The more northern tribes knew this as the Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter. Other northern names are the Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night, or the Sap Moon as this is the time for tapping maple trees.…

    Outside My Window ~ 12.11.2011

Outside my window…is a pretty frosty evening as we are closing in on 9:00 p.m..  We are currently at 33°F, which is also our forecast low for the evening.  Today was sunshine and blue skies but fairly cool with only a high of 45°F.  We will gradually build our way up to a high of 60°F by Thursday.  I noticed on the weather channel the past couple of days that a lot of places that normally have plenty of snow have barely seen any this year….you wonder if they are going to have a mild winter….or if the worst is yet to come.  We generally don’t see snow this early….we…

    Outside My Window ~ 11.13.2011

Outside my window…is the close of another weekend…one that went by very quickly.  It was a nice weekend, temperatures in the mid sixties with mostly sunny skies and not much wind.  It is 58°F and mostly cloudy at 7:25 this evening.  The temperatures will remain a little above average for the week with a chance for rain Tuesday evening.  They are calling for wind tomorrow….I suppose we will loose quite a bit of the remaining leaves if that is the case.  I would say this past week we hit our peak as far as fall colors.  I know the drive to and from work was quite beautiful…I posted a few…

    Outside My Window ~ 3.20.11

Outside My Window…is a fabulous first day of Spring.  Not as toasty warm as it could be….49°F at 3:15.  There is a light breeze but there is also plenty of sunshine and blue skies.  We do have a light cloud cover ~ kind of like a water color wash of white here and there, but it is definitely a day you can not complain about.  Beautiful now, not so much later this evening.  Our forecast calls for rain late tonight.  Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, windy and 71°F…chance of thunderstorms tomorrow evening.  Welcome to spring in southeastern Virginia. I am thinking…about the quest last night to see the moon as soon…
