Outside My Window ~ 11.13.2011

Outside my window…is the close of another weekend…one that went by very quickly.  It was a nice weekend, temperatures in the mid sixties with mostly sunny skies and not much wind.  It is 58°F and mostly cloudy at 7:25 this evening.  The temperatures will remain a little above average for the week with a chance for rain Tuesday evening.  They are calling for wind tomorrow….I suppose we will loose quite a bit of the remaining leaves if that is the case.  I would say this past week we hit our peak as far as fall colors.  I know the drive to and from work was quite beautiful…I posted a few photographs last week about what I see during my drive…..take a look, I think you will agree.

I am thinking…about my daughter’s friend who is at the hospital now preparing to deliver her first baby.  I’m glad we got the last maternity photo shoot finished last Saturday.  🙂   I haven’t even finished processing those and now it will be time to do the baby shoot.  I’m really looking forward to photographing sweet baby toes….fingers….face…and her tiny little body.  I’m also going to create a baby announcement for her…looks like I could have a busy week ahead of me.  We are all extremely excited and looking forward to meeting new baby very soon!

I am thankful…that my stepfather is making a wonderful recovery since he fractured his hip and surgery to repair it last weekend.  He may be released from the hospital  as soon as tomorrow and transferred to rehab for a short period before going home.

From my kitchen…was dinner and a movie last night with my sister.  The occasion  this time was the very last Harry Potter movie had come out on DVD Friday.  We decided to start seeing movies together and getting something to eat afterward on a regular basis and then we added having dinner and a movie at my house as well.  Always a good time…I’m glad we started this tradition.  🙂  We also decided we will miss not having a Harry Potter movie to look forward to.  I do have a recipe for homemade turkey sausage but not down on paper yet….hopefully next week.

I am going…to try rearranging some things in the house to make it all a little more functional.  Or maybe I’m just bored with the way everything is now?  I spent a good part of the day today organizing and cleaning where my desk is located.  It never ceases to amaze me how fast clutter can accumulate ~ and where did all these papers come from?!?  I recycled quite a bit today.  I think this is the area that is bothering me the most…it could be a little more functional but I can’t put my finger on just how.

I am hearing…a rather loud car passing by outside….the ticking of my many clocks….an older Harry Potter movie on television…an otherwise quiet house.

Plans for the week include…working from home again on Tuesday…meeting baby Hazel…hopefully visiting my stepfather in rehab rather than the hospital….getting stuff together for a baby photo shoot this coming weekend sometime…and lots of creating needs to start going on if I’m going to get accomplished what I hope to before Christmas…lots of creating.

One of life’s little moments…is experiencing and witnessing the excitement in a group of friends that basically grew up together when one of their own is having her first baby.  This little baby is not going to lack for any attention to be sure.   🙂
