Outside My Window ~ 7.3.11
Outside my window…is a very warm and partly cloudy Sunday afternoon. At around 12:15 today, we are at 85°F with humidity at 63% and little or no breeze. I was outside for a little while this morning and I can attest to the fact that it is muggy and warm. Our forecast high of 90°F and sunshine is making the tourists that traveled to our shores quite happy. Nothing ruins a beach vacation like cloudy and rainy weather. There is a good chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening that will either turn the entire place into a giant steam bath or cool us off a bit. I hope it is the latter. I am…

Outside My Window ~ 5.29.11
Outside my window…right now at 12:15 p.m., it is 82°F with about 62% humidity. Our high is forecast for 85°F today with lots of sunshine and a few clouds. The sky is a brilliant blue and there are a few white, puffy clouds out there now….not enough to block the sunshine. I’m sure the local beaches are quite full by this point…and if you aren’t there by now, be prepared to endure a lot of traffic to get there. Helpful hint number one….getting to the beach early enables you to pick that prime spot and you avoid the mind numbing traffic that comes later in the day. 🙂 It looks as…

Outside My Window ~ 5.8.11
Outside My Window…right now, at 6:31 p.m, we have mostly sunny skies and 66°F. Our forecast today was for occasional rain showers and a high of 71°F. The chance for rain was less than 50% and it appears we had that very early this morning. The wind is light…branches are gently swaying in the breeze now and then…but it is not enough to cause my wind chimes to sing to me. Our temperatures will hover in the mid to low 70 range all this week. This is typical weather in my area for this time of year. It generally cools off and stays this way around Mother’s Day and a few days following. …

Happy Birthday America
Tomorrow the United States celebrates our Independence Day. In between the hot dogs, hamburgers and fireworks….take a minute to remember those who sacrificed so much so that we may celebrate freely. Photo credits: Blue skies of Virginia by me. Many thanks to happysweetmama for the use of the American Flag and KRSPO for the use of Lady Liberty in the creation of this photo.

Outside My Window ~ 6.20.10
Outside My Window…is sunshine and heat. Our temperature at 8:15 this morning is 79ºF but feels like 83ºF. The forecast high is 94ºF for today with plenty of sunshine. Our average for this time of year is 82ºF. It is once again quite muggy outside so unless you are sitting on a beach, you are going to be fairly miserable with this heat. While the beach sometimes offers you nice breezes….that may not be the case today since the winds are from the southwest and are pretty non-existent. And while we aren’t breaking any records quite yet, the temperatures have been quite high for the past several days. We could…

Don’t forget to take time to pause and remember why this is a holiday.
