Disappointed
We drove over to Lancaster in search of their almost 200 year old courthouse ~ which by the way was the last location a witch trial was held in the United States ~ but it had massive construction going on all around it, and on the building itself. It had been damaged by a fire not so long ago and repair work was well under way as well as the construction of another very large building right next door. Scenes From Our Hike
Today we went shopping and out to eat in Charlotte, North Carolina. It has been a long day so I’m going to feature a couple of photos from our hike yesterday……. We had just been talking about the lack of any bird or squirrel’s nests in the area and decided it was because the eagles nest was in these woods. Not too long after that, we noticed a rather ragged looking squirrels nest….which turned out to be not so far from the eagles nest. Once we saw the proximity of the squirrels nest to the eagles….we figured out why it was so ragged looking….possibly ravaged by the eagle searching for…

Outside My Window ~ 4.04.10
Outside My Window…the sun is setting on my parents house in Catawba, South Carolina. It was a wonderful day….temps were in the mid 80’s, blue skies and sunshine. I am thinking…how I hope everyone had a wonderful day today……and a Happy Easter! I am thankful for…many things come to mind, but right now I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to come and stay with my parents. There was a time when they lived quite far away (Saudi Arabia being the greatest distance) and I was not able to see them as often as I would have liked. Relax
We arrived safe and sound….an uneventful trip that seemed shorter than the hours we traveled. This is the message above the whirlpool tub in my extra large bathroom off of my extra large bedroom taken at sunrise today….. ….and for the next 7 days, this is exactly what I will be doing. 8)

We are on the road again……heading to Catawba, South Carolina in a short while. And check out the forecast for the coming week…..highs in the 80º range! I have to find my shorts!! 🙂

Outside My Window ~ 10.11.09
Outside My Window…is a beautiful morning……sunny, blue skies and it was 57F at 7:30 this morning. There is a nice breeze blowing as well. I started this a bit later, but still quite beautiful outside. We are forecasted for a high of 72F and partly cloudy skies. The rest of this week doesn’t look so promising with a few showers forecast for each day. There are a few trees beginning to change in our area but not quite as beautiful as some of the photos I have seen of the Northeast areas. Road Trip ~ Conclusion
As I conclude the tale of our road trip, I wanted to share a few more random photos with you. There was a full moon during my visit and try as I might, I was unable to get a photo of one that I was really happy with while it was dark….but I did get one early in the morning on the day we left… I’m still a work in progress when it comes to moon shots, but I was pretty happy with this one. 🙂 There were also some pretty amazing sunsets…. Road Trip ~ Part IV ~ Final Resting
I stumbled upon a very old cemetary while in South Carolina last month. I like old cemetaries…..they whisper to me ~ especially when they are in the woods. It actually was a glimpse of a headstone as I drove down an old road that caught my eye. This road was off the beaten path so I knew it must be an old cemetary, but what I didn’t know was how old. My oldest daughter joined me on this sunny afternoon for our visit to the cemetary. There is a small pull off for vehicles and a sign warning visitors there is a state law which prohibits visitors from tampering with or removing any items from a cemetary…

Outside My Window…is blue skies, temperature is 67F with 83% humidity at 8:00 a.m. The sun has just gotten up over the rooftops so it is pretty nice outside right now. We are forecasted to have a high of 86F with partly sunny skies today. For Labor Day, cloudy and showers….guess that means everyone will be heading home from the beaches sooner than they planned.
