Outside My Window

Outside My Window ~ 6.6.10

Outside My Window…is unbelievably hot and sunny!  When I walked outside early this morning I couldn’t believe how hot it was.  Currently it is 86ºF but feels like 93ºF with 64% humidity at 11:00 this morning.  Our high today is suppose to reach 95ºF. I’m not surprised we have a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening….I will be surprised if nothing materializes because it feels quite tropical outside.  I also noticed our area is a 3 on the Weather Channel TorCon index….so that means we have a 30% chance of a tornado in this area.  Fortunately, they are not the norm for us.

I am thinking…how many more critters am I going to see around here!  Last night as I went to close the front door, there sat a baby possum peering in through the storm door.  Of course, not realizing what this was right away I screamed which caused it to jump a little and then scurry away…probably looking for his much bigger and creepier looking momma.  I have lived here for many years and the amount of wildlife I have seen in the past two months is pretty unusual.  I do not live in a rural area by any means.  Seriously….I’m halfway curious and afraid of what will be coming next….bears lounging in the backyard??  I can’t help but think it has something to do with the woods they took down to build some apartments last fall in our area.  The odd thing is these woods weren’t that close to my house.

I am thankful for…on days like today ~ definitely air conditioning!

From the kitchen…is a cold glass of iced blackberry sage iced tea right now.  After I went outside this morning, all I could think was I needed something cold to drink ~ not a hot cup of coffee.  I don’t have anything planned for meals today….but whatever I do make, I have decided I want a nice, fresh salad to go along with it.

I am going…to pick up my youngest daughter from a friends house, stop by the grocery store and then the rest of the day is rest and relaxation.  I might work on uploading more photos on Flickr ~ which by the way is current up to the first of April.

I am hoping…the weather report for cooler temps tomorrow is correct.  The forecast is 81ºF which will feel frosty compared today.

I am hearing…the ticking of my many clocks….and quiet.  Sometimes quiet is good.

Around the house…a few chores here and there….photos to scan……plants to water.

Plans for the week include…I don’t have too much planned for the week actually.  I will be attending an employee appreciation luncheon at work on Friday and possibly leaving early that day.  They generally give us the day off after the luncheon ~ or you can leave without enjoying the food.  I usually have lunch and then I’m outta there!  🙂

One of my favorite things…finding money you didn’t know you have.  While putting away a jacket for the summer, I found two dollars in the pocket.  Of course it would have been sweeter if it had been a twenty, but money is money.

A picture I’d like to share with you…practicing up on my bee photography while I wait for the sunflowers to grow….which by the way ~ Look How Big!  🙂

Black-eyed Susan

And my lavender…..

I’m beyond jealous. I’m freezing here. Wrapped in a polar bear type fleece dressing gown, slippers and still teeth chattering. Can I come visit….????!

It is hot sticky and humid here also. I am so grateful for air conditioning
Yes, one of my favorite things is to find money I didn’t know I had. Heck! I get excited about change left in the washer.
Great job on capturing the bee. Your photos are wonderful.
