    Flowers

“In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.”                                                                                                                                    Abram Urban “Flowers have spoken to me more than I can tell in written words. They are the hieroglyphics of angels, loved by all men for the beauty of the character, though few can decypher even fragments of their meaning.”                                                                                                Lydia M. Child “If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.”                                                                                                                           Buddha “By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of…

    Outside My Window ~ 10.3.10

Outside My Window…is cloudy, wet and cool.  We are currently at 63ºF at 7:00 this evening.  The temperature hasn’t varied too much today from our current temp….there has been light rain falling all day on and off.  This is my definition of typical fall weather.  The trees in my neighborhood are beginning to turn ~ especially the dogwood trees.   Rain is forecast for Monday with it clearing off in the evening.  Our temperatures are going to stay in the mid sixties to seventy degrees during the day and lows in the mid to upper 50’s in the evenings this week.  I’m not complaining…just wish the earlier storm hadn’t revealed the roof leak again. …

    Progress Stalled

I began to work on my handbag camera bag when I ran into a snag.  It seems the Velcro I had for attaching the dividers was the wrong type for the material I am using.  Back to the drawing board….or I should say back to the store to pick up something different.  I have all the foam sized and cut for the inside….I have the material cut for the foam covering.  I can’t cover the foam until I get the new Velcro because some will have to be sewn on before I cover the foam.  Sigh….progress stalled.

    Unofficial

The rain has stopped….for the most part.  There is a chance for showers this morning from a system moving across the lower part of the state, but that is slim.  The skies are gray and cloudy….the wind is blowing just enough to make my wind chimes sing to me.  The air is cool….crisp.  This was my view as I looked out my storm door yesterday.  It was a perfect day to work from home ~ I arranged to do so earlier in the week not even realizing what was to come.  I couldn’t have planned it any better.  It was a constant, steady rain….sometimes, it was torrential rains.  Our unofficial total for the day was 6.05…

    Well…….

Remember how I was saying all summer long how I wished it would rain…. …and how I was so happy these past two days we were finally getting rain? Well…..see the big clump of yellow over Eastern Virginia? Wish Granted! I guess I should have specified I didn’t mean all at once.

    Outside My Window ~ 9.26.10

Outside My Window…right now it is 74ºF with cloud cover, a chance of thunderstorms this evening ~ and I have been told it feels cool in the house.  Sweet!  We actually had moisture fall from the sky last night….I believe it is called rain?  You know I exaggerate a bit but it has been forever since we have had rain puddles around my house.  And cooler temperatures ~ I welcome thee with open arms!! From my kitchen…is an early dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese.  A special request from my oldest who is coming home from work for her dinner break.  I haven’t cooked a big meal at…
