Outside My Window ~ 6.27.10
Outside My Window…is far more heat than I want to deal with. At 4:00 p.m. it is 97ºF but it feels like 102ºF when you factor in the dew point. I arrived home from the Outer Banks a short time ago and had to unload my car in this heat. Absolutely miserable outside…..with no relief in site. Tomorrow is suppose to be 99ºF. To make matters worse, there has been no measurable rain in over a week. We are literally baking. I know some may be thinking ‘well it is summer’ but considering our average for this time of year is the mid 80’s….it is horrible. I will water my poor baked…

Outer Banks
I am spending some time with my brother’s family in a house they rented at Nags Head, a wonderful beach located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I will return Sunday afternoon… with maybe a photograph or two. 😉

Well……
Remember this…..my beautiful, almost ripe tomato? The one I was so patiently waiting to fully ripen so I could enjoy tomato-ey goodness….my very first ripe tomato of the season. I could taste it…..it was going to be perfect. So I head outside to get my little red beauty….my perfectly ripened tasty wonder. I reach down to pluck it off the vine and feel something not quite right on the back side…..so I turn it around and…… ……something beat me to it!!!!! 😡 And that just sucks.

Hot and Hotter
It literally feels like you could melt if you stayed outside long enough. The heat and humidity is brutal and oppressive ~ it is after 7 and it still feels like 95ºF outside. Our region is under a heat advisory until 8:00 tomorrow evening. I thought for sure this exploding cloud would bring some welcome rain……but not a drop fell. I’m heading out now to offer some relief to my plants ~ it doesn’t appear we are going to get any rain today either.

Random Thoughts….
There will be a full moon while I’m at the beach this weekend. How awesome is that? I already have photographs formulating in my head…. I hope they work out. I hope to get a few of these while I’m at the beach… nothing like watching the sun rise over the Atlantic. I don’t want to get a sunburn. 😎 I have fallen in love with my backyard… …once again. It happens every year. I have a ripened tomato….well, almost. It will be delicious ~ I just know it. ‘Cause I grew it….all by myself. There is mad construction going on….all around the building I work in. Why do construction guys with the biggest belly’s…

Outside My Window ~ 6.20.10
Outside My Window…is sunshine and heat. Our temperature at 8:15 this morning is 79ºF but feels like 83ºF. The forecast high is 94ºF for today with plenty of sunshine. Our average for this time of year is 82ºF. It is once again quite muggy outside so unless you are sitting on a beach, you are going to be fairly miserable with this heat. While the beach sometimes offers you nice breezes….that may not be the case today since the winds are from the southwest and are pretty non-existent.
