Estate Sales
This past Saturday I was up bright and early for my run and then off to a couple of estate sales I found online. I knew one would more than likely have a wonderful view of the James River, and it did not disappoint…….. As you can see, it was a beautiful morning and the view was amazing. The little spit of land you can see across the James River is part of Ft. Eustis Army Base. What looks like buildings are actually ships….part of the Ghost Fleet that is anchored in the James River. After I made my purchases, I asked permission to take some photos of the view…

Outside My Window ~ 6.28.09
Outside My Window…is a warm, humid, overcast day. There is a slight breeze causing the trees to sway a bit and my wind chimes to sing to me. We have a slight chance for showers this evening…….welcome treats for the flowers and plants. I am thinking…about the few bills I need to pay……..my trip to South Carolina in August to see my dad and step-mom and their new house…….the chores that need to be completed today……new products for me to sell……designing my new shop on Etsy……refinishing some items…….working with clay……a painting in my mind that is waiting to be put on canvas. Right now my mind is running in overdrive…

Summer in Southeast Virginia
Typical summer afternoon in Southeast Virginia…….I’m leaving work to beautiful blue skies and cotton candy clouds. Here is a glimpse of my drive down the Colonial Parkway after work. I was on my way to Gloucester to pick up Alanna from a friends house. I noticed the clouds getting larger……. When I arrived in Gloucester, the sun was shining bright through the pine tree….. By the time we arrived home, the clouds were building and the skies were darkening even more, but amidst the dark sky, a rainbow. Actually, it was a double rainbow, but the second one had faded so that it didn’t photograph. …

Outside My Window ~ 6.21.09
Outside My Window…is a partly cloudy, windy and 83 degree day. This is a big improvement over yesterday’s 96 degrees. It was quite hot and miserable yesterday. I ventured outside for my run early in the morning, back out to get some neighborhood photos for the blog and then I was pretty much an indoor kitty yesterday! 🙂 I am thinking…about how quickly this year has gone by. Is it me or has this year just flown by so far? It doesn’t seem like spring was that long ago much less the first day of summer already. I am thankful for…the two most important men in my life…….my father and…

A Run Through The Neighborhood….
One of the nice things about running through your neighborhood is the sites you see……the different flowers, different wildlife, different ways people landscape their yards, and of course the people. There is a couple (he is a massage therapist and personal trainer, she is a teacher) that gets up early and run….some mornings they are sitting on their porch enjoying a beverage afterwards and are always quick to shout “hello, how are you” and “you’re looking good, keep up the great work” as I run past. A little encouragement never hurt anyone! During my run this morning, I was thinking about what kind of post I could do today….and I thought why not…

Outside My Window ~ 6.14.09
Outside My Window…it was a nice day, not horribly hot or humid. Could have been a little cooler and less humid, but I have experienced worse. We had lots of sunshine for all the walking we did, and that was a lot. We walked the length, up and back, of Duke of Gloucester Street in Colonial Williamsburg, one of the larger building at the Williamsburg Pottery, and a large chunk of the Prime Outlet Mall….we could all have a big bowl of ice cream this evening without guilt ~ yep, lots of walking! I am thinking…about how good it was to see Cheryl and Stephanie after so many years…..and to…

Outside My Window ~ 6.7.2009
Outside My Window…sun is finally coming out……currently 68 degrees with a forecasted high of 80 with a mix of clouds and sun. It is fairly humid outside, probably as a result of all the rain we got Friday evening. And did it rain! I just noticed on the weather channel our rain total for the month of June is 2 ¼ inches……..I wouldn’t be at all surprised if most of that came Friday night. It would pour rain, slack off a little bit for a couple of minutes and then pour rain again. This went on from late afternoon into the night. But everything is so green and clean looking…
